Agree, and I am guilty of being sucked into the vortex. Heading to Swamp Gas for some sanity.

Not the entire state. The people in the smaller upstate towns and cities are wonderful people.

A “baby” with no consciousness and no feeling and the size of an olive.

Forcing isn’t a buzzword. It is literally what you are doing.

You mean like the ones in this district that you insulted?

Again. We "force" morality all the time. Bit I guess your line is the one we go with?

I mean in many places that olive is a human if a crime is committed.

    Arbitrary morality.

Well sure we have laws - but for the most part they tend to be common ones - murder is illegal. Forcing women to have babies from conception is not at all common in 1st world countries. It is primarily a Christian and Muslim religious value. Thus the Taliban label fits.

What are your thoughts on sanctimonious people who live someplace other than NYC? Say, Florida. Do you view and treat them with equal disdain?

I find people who force their religious values on me offensive.

Totally agree. I personally think the Taliban references are over the top, but I get why people bring it up, it's to make the point of forcing religion on people - even if it's not apples to apples.

Hmm, the parts of that district that border Massachusetts, Vermont, and Pennsylvania might disagree with you there. But let's all be honest, you insulted people's intelligence because they didn't agree with you and then complained about other people doing it.

If you think about it - forcing a women to carry an early pregnancy to term, against her will, is pretty severe. It’s based on a fundamentalist religious belief. I think the Taliban label fits. It’s also a form of sharia law.

Nothing like ending the original post of your thread with "right wing nut jobs" to really stoke honest conversation and debate.

So thats all the Taliban is? Offensive? We all get "offended" by opposing views.
We dont get beheaded for them.

You should stop using Taliban as a reference. It's a terrible example.

Here's the weird thing about these positions. Its like some of you have somehow evolved into thinking that religious people have no rights to vote or push agendas based on their beliefs.

We all vote and push agendas based on our beliefs. The fact that mine comes from a deeply held faith gives it no less credence than someone who pushes an agenda crafted from a different souce.

Our core beliefs all come from somewhere.
