I mentioned it earlier today in the new Covid thread started. It's a weird right poster thing where they believe their thoughts are so important it deserves a new thread.

That, or they have to hit a specified quota of new "dumping on Biden" threads each day or risk losing their MAGA cards.

Do you know if this is based on last year’s returns?

If so, my gf’s remaining debt will be cut in half.

Looks like Biden needs to buy a few more votes for November.
Problem is...$10K won't be enough to buy all the millennials.

If that's what he is trying to do and I would agree mobilizing voters under age of 35 is at least part of his motivation it will be a zero sum gain at best. For every indebted millennial who would have otherwise stayed home there will be resentment from working class voters who never attended college as well as from borrowers who paid off their loans.

I'm trying to figure out how to make this work for me.....I could go back to school and take out a 10K loan, Biden writes me a check for 10K, I quit school and go to Vegas. This might work.

Oh well 10K here, 20k there no worries 80,000 armed IRS agents are going to collect the money from tax payers to pay student loan creditors. Let's be clear here the creditors will get their money one way or the other. Don't ask creditors to take the hit make the population pay for it.

I want $30,000 for me, my wife, and my daughter at $10,000 each. This seems fair to me. Biden can magically approve this as he is a Dictator.

The congressional republican leadership so far is pathetic joke in their response. They should have had a lawsuit prepared the same day Biden announced this illegal action. Damn Biden, it's unfair and wrong. Again, so far, a pathetic joke of a response. There must be a change at the top in the House and Senate republican leadership come January.

Who has standing to step up and take this to court if the weak-kneed republican leadership doesn't? There is no way Dictator Biden will win this when it gets to court. Maybe I should say if it gets to court with the weak republicans in leadership.

I urge everyone that is against this bill to refuse the 10k. If your kids have a loan tell them to tell Joe Biden that he can keep it.

The Boomer hate in this thread....inject in my veins please.

Millennials have been f'ed in every possible way. 2008 financial crisis because of predatory banks and idiot boomer lenders, Covid, the financial crisis only exacerbated by a moron in the White House who wanted to sign his name to checks given out by the federal gov't. Not to mention the PPP loans and fraud that occurred. But that was a "stimulus."

You all hating on this act can get bent. The boomer generation has profited like crazy, leaving us Millennials scraps.

My daughter just texted me. She had exactly $10k left to pay and she’s a bit under the income threshold. I think she should take us out for dinner.

    Awful.

This accomplishes nothing and it makes nobody happy. I’m not against a thought out plan to allow need or merit based refinancing or restructuring, but this is completely arbitrary and now puts in the future expectation that college debt will be forgiven.

i hope democrats enjoyed their brief bit of momentum because this will squash it. Once again, democrats pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory.

I think you are overreacting. I don't see democrats losing a ton of votes over this when it is the reason some voted for him

It would probably be illegal, but I wouldn’t mind seeing the government rescind their government backing of problematic private “college” loans, and allow those to go through the normal bankruptcy process.
