In a free society, two consenting adults should be free to settle their differences through a duel. If consenting adults can participate in MMA or boxing, which would be a crime outside of a sporting arena, I see no substantial difference between that and a, sanctioned, consenting duel. As with all duels, weapons are decided ahead of time. I recently learned the story of a duel Abraham Lincoln was in, where he got to choose the weapon.
