We have 14 million voters and two time zones. Yet we know results the same day. It's ridiculous that other states can't seem to do the same.

Why some states need a week to do what Florida does in one night is beyond me.

It’s because we have computer voting and counting machines, early voting that can be tabulated before the election, mail in voting that can be opened and tabulated before the election…. You know… all the things Trumpers claim should be illegal and cost Trump the election…..

I take it that you’re one of “those people” that rely on the new media to feed you anger, instead of context. Maybe you should get your news from better sources...

He said votes are calculated same day, which should be considered a success. you reply to that that he’s one of “those people”. Well done

Those votes are early absentee ballots, done the right way. They can be accounted for in advance.

In some states they will not count mail ins until after the polls close. Florida does it right so there was no need to mess with it.

Guess what Florida does with mail in voting that some states didn’t do last cycle?

For example in Pennsylvania said they can’t reject a ballot based on signature comparison.

Florida is very strict on signature match to either the registered signature or a cure affidavit.

ALSO, yes allowing votes to be tabulated before voting night is a good thing in my opinion.

I’m not sure why anyone including trump supporters would be against this.

Just make the info very transparent. Like in Florida we know how many ballots are in and by party affiliation before voting night.

What are you talking about? Anyone can early vote in Florida. Anyone can vote by mail in Florida.

Well I don’t watch news or go to any news websites. If you are going to accuse me of something, at least explain what you are trying to accuse me of.

Show me how many states allow tabulated ballots before election night, all the while updating number of votes in and by party affiliation. I’m sure there are a few by it’s not many.

Florida technically doesn’t call them absentee ballots. We just straight have mail in voting.

Am I the only one who remembers “democrats want to count the ballots early so they know how many fake ballots they need on Election Day”… or … “opening the mailing ballots early gives them a longer time to lose the Trump ballots”. Ask Q… I’m sure he remembers.

I’m old school so I still call them absentee, bottom line is they require voter confirmation and early vote.

True. And there is a difference, “absentee” generally refers to people with an excuse who can’t be at the polls in the person … “mail in voting” aka “no excuse absentee voting” is what we have in Florida.

Maybe and I can’t answer for them. I think Florida proved in 2020 it works rather well.

I remember them stopping the count, then going to the mail in votes. I’m not saying they then cheated the election by any means though. I’m just not sure why Florida is capable of counting votes the same day but that’s not deemed a success

I agree, it does work very well in Florida … and every other state that does it. I don’t know why states like Pennsylvania, NC, and Georgia didn’t allow early counting, but I’m sure those laws were passed by republicans….

it’s because Florida tabulates early and mail in voting on the fly, and I think have gone completely to computer vote counting with paper backup. I vote on a paper ballot that gets scanned by a machine and counted in real time, I literally feed the paper Into the machine. And the paper drops into a secure bin so the counter can be verified against paper ballots if anyone wants to challenge it.
