Exactly. I don't give Trump much credit for anything. But I do give him credit for being a masterful manipulator of people.
They actually do have that right, as the papers don't belong to the former President but rather to the federal government.
Unfortunately, people rarely leave cults when faced with realities. They tend to double down, in fact. They leave cults when they are no longer useful for their emotional needs.
So now Trump did not send them. He just made it happen? Hahahahaha. You really need to stay away from the manufactured false narratives. I think you realize that you lied in saying Trump sent people to storm the Capitol. Yet you still think he did. You really can’t make this stuff up. But that sure seems to be your position.
I voted for him in the general with low expectations. He far exceeded my expectations. He certainly had a checked past. And he handled the media with mean tweets at times. Some unnecessary. But at the end of the day he got stuff done for the conservative movement. If you want to spend your time judging is past. You can. But he preformed far better than I could have expected as President. For things you believe in.
“The text of the letter was posted by conservative journalist John Solomon on Monday evening. Former President Donald Trump allegedly had more than 700 pages of classified material in his possession, according to a May 10 letter from the National Archives to a lawyer representing Trump.” National Archives letter shows extent of classified material previously at Mar-a-Lago
I cut this quote from your comment because NARA knew documents were missing and that at least some of them were national security related. A fishing expedition (looking for something/anything it was not). Please read AzCatFan’s response. Succinct and to the point on why the search cannot be considered a fishing expedition.
Yes. Absolutely. This is the paradigm case why. First, national security doesn’t end when a new president takes office. Top secret information doesn’t suddenly become out of the purview of the new administration because of the change in administrations. To the contrary, national secrets need to be maintained and protected. Threats need to be assessed. And the determination of what is in the national interest is made by the president in office, not the former president. National security reviews include career professionals at all levels of the government and include the AG and his national security team. The former administration can’t keep that information from the new administration. And the 9-0 Nixon decision makes clear that executive privilege is not absolute and yields to the national interest and conversations to commit crimes. Second, with respect to non-classified information, executive privilege for the former president ends when the administration ends. It is up to the new president. Always has been.
Presidential communications belonging to the archives is yet another check and balance on a corrupt executive. Trump was our first modern president who believed all rules exist to be broken if being handcuffed isn't the penalty. He showed that we need far more guardrails on that office.
He said he doesnt need forgiveness. He hasnt done anything to require it. That doesnt line up with my faith at all. It shows a prideful, arrogant man that has no thoughts of changing.
I'm pretty sure Fox News itself has been at least neutral about Trump for 3 years now. People conflate Fox News with Fox Commentators. They are not the same thing.
Isn't the Fox lineup pretty much full of commentators? Watters, Carlson, Hannity, Ingraham, Gutfield. That's 7-midnight. Plus others during the day.
