Hell yeah!! If they're going to pay you why not. Can't believe nobody has talked about this until now. He's a great Gator. Never forget his freshman performance against Michigan St in the 2000 final. F*&K Matean Cleeves
Yes, and I will never, ever forgive Bill "The Fudge" Packer calling Dupay a "thug" for that. Cleeves doing the melodramatic re-entrance to the game. Ugh.
I remember Cleeves limping off the court until he thought he was out of camera and then walking normally down the tunnel.
I think Haslem's early shining moment has holding his own as a freshman against upplerclassman Elton Brand (?) of Duke. As for the Dupay/Cleaves incident (and I don't care to watch the video), Dupay was getting elbowed in the head all the way down the court. It was a physical play on both ends.
I'm not going to lie, I don't really have any idea what the Heat and Haslem are really doing any more or what the point of this is, but it's Miami's money and roster spot, and if they're going to pay you for an average of approximately one minute per game, I guess you've got to take it.
Maybe Miami is paying him to keep young and now rich players in line in a city where it is very easy to go way over the line. UD has a lot of connections in Miami.
I know it is a tragedy and maybe they never got even a nickel but the Len Bias estate might be even more. It was a long time ago but if I recall correctly he was fronted some money.
God I hate Mateen Cleaves to this day. UD is an all time Gator. Will be a great coach in a suit .. for now a great coach in a jersey
Great article on his decision to return What 42-year-old Udonis Haslem means to the Heat: This is not a 'charity case'
