I've always found it humorous you think only one side speaks with condescension on this board. Especially on a thread where the OP came in guns blazing talking down to "libbies." Posters thay post respectful generally get treated with respect. And those that don't don't. It's pretty obvious.
Always funny when the "suck it up snowflake/facts don't care about your feelings" people are like "can't you be nicer and more welcoming to us."
I honestly didn’t know the term libbie was so off-putting. Really? I thought some refer to my side such as pubs/cons. Doesn’t bother me.
Side note….I don’t think you are apart of “the condescending five.” Most of the time, you are a decent poster IMO.
I bet if you lined up the handles side by side you’d see the condescension is heavy for the libbie side. Also, I don’t think the OP came in guns blazing. Come on, it was kind of funny and if you try on your empathy hat, he makes a good point about what this board looks like to the outsiders.
So, when some starts a thread saying basically "This forum sucks" with zero else ... what kind of insightful questions would you suggest? "Please, kind sir, what wisdom can you impart to helps us raise this board to your standards? We so want to please you?" BTW, it's not his first time on the board. His position is clear: The election was stolen, Biden sucks, Obama sucks, Hillary sucks ...
I don't disagree. But I'd say that has more to do with certain right leaning posters posting terrible takes than anything. And yes, I realize you will disagree with me on that, we've gone down this road before. When a liberal poster like @wgbgator posts a terrible anti-capitalism take he also gets mocked. It's good times. See. You're unwilling to call out the condescension from both sides. It was a thread mocking liberals on Too Hot. Clearly. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all, but call a spade a spade if you want to ride the high horse.
You have a condescending five? Oh shit. I gotta know who is on it. I can guess 4 I think. You may receive a PM from me later.
I don't know that I'd call it "off-putting," but it's always felt to me to imply a disrespectful undertone. Adding "y" or "ie" in the English language is usually a diminutive used to make the term it's added to feel lesser in overall weight or significance.
I thought making fun of him was kind of funny too, and I was making a good point about what he looks like to insiders.
