“The problem the Republican Party has is, they got really stupid people that vote in their primaries. And … really stupid people demand to have really stupid leaders. That’s where the Republican Party is now.” On Herschel Walker: “That guy had a ill-fitting helmet. He’s not right. He’s not right at all.” On the left: “These people have the ability to irritate. They have the ability to come up with really stupid things, like ‘defund the police’ — three worst words ever in the English language, maybe. Did you read the last quote? When he criticized the left he probably also had AOC in mind although he specifically mentioned the lefties who used the slogan "defund the police". Interestingly, it's some of the more deranged pro-Trump righties who are now calling for the defunding of the FBI, the nation's premier law enforcement agency. You really think he's pals with AOC? AOC rips James Carville for blaming Virginia loss on 'wokeness'
The "defund the police" slogan may be the dumbest of all time. If it takes you five minutes to explain what the slogan means, it's a BAD slogan.
Love me some Carville. The wife and I hung out & tailgated with him in Baton Rouge a couple times when the Gators were in town. He’s ornery, irreverent, hilarious, and dead serious all at the same time. As with most things Louisiana, he only gets better after a couple drinks

Another thread morphed into an I hate Trump thread. It’s about that turd Carville and not the Trump turd.
If the Democrats took the advice of "that turd Carville" they would be doing much better than they have over the last seven years. In fact, if Carville managed Hillary Clinton's campaign in 2015 and 2016, Donald Trump would probably be using his real skill set as a reality television star rather than trying to transform the US from a Constitutional republic into a banana republic.
If Carville and people of his ilk had been running the DNC in the recent past, the House and Senate would be comfortably blue and Trump probably would not have been POTUS #45. The Dems are good at missing layups and they've proven that consistently in recent years.
What do you think of Carville's assessment of Merrick Garland, Donald Trump and the search of Mar-a-Lago? “People are like, well, but let’s wait and see a little bit. And this is like the top of the first inning. I mean, remember Merrick Garland is like a pit viper. He prosecuted the Oklahoma City bomber case, the Unabomber case, the Olympic bomber case. And I think these guys are really methodical,” Carville says on this episode of The New Abnormal politics podcast. Even if he didn’t have faith in Garland, Trump and the MAGA Republicans are not doing themselves any favors, Carville says. “Their defenses are just literally absurd. I mean, absurd. Like ‘he can declassify anything he wants,’ says Carville. Plus, “you ask ‘Why did Trump want all these documents?’ And the answer is the most logical reason: He was gonna sell them.”‘Viper’ Merrick Garland’s Trump Raid Is Only ‘First Inning’
Well, we can't forget this gem then: "Drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you'll find." This was, of course, in reference to multiple claims (some proven, some strongly suggested to be true, none strongly suggested to be made up) of sexual misconduct by William J. Clinton. WE BELIEVE WOMEN* *subject to their claims fitting a necessary political narrative; otherwise, they are nuts and/or sluts
