Not you, but it was very foreseeable that MAGA nation would be triggered (using one of your terms) by the search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence and would rally around their Dear Leader. Still doesn't mean that the DOJ/FBI acted improperly in searching the residence an Trump should not be above the law just because he's a former president and if the allegations in the media regarding the documents are accurate what Trump did was far more serious than what Hillary "lock her up" Clinton did by receiving and sending official emails on her private server. I would also add that the search took place only after a valid warrant was issued by a federal magistrate after a showing probable cause and considering the subject of the warrant was the residence of a former president the affidavit provided by the DOJ/FBI was undoubtedly more extensive and detailed than affidavits submitted to obtain search warrants in the overwhelming majority of cases even those also involving national security.

 

I worked on some matters she was closely involved in a decade or more ago. She always seemed smart and reasonable. Seems like she’s gone full loony since then.

 

I agree somewhat in that what trump did is a little worse than what hillary did. Both were wrong, trump had chances but I still don't agree with how it was done, and i'm not the only one. Garland sat on it for weeks contemplating it. Some on here think it was cut and dry and they look foolish for thinking that way when the AG took weeks to decide.

 

She's a smart woman who undoubtedly knows better. Reminds me of Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley both of whom are pushing similar absurd narratives that they know have no basis in reality. Kind of sad that politicians who should be leaders or at least attempt to moderate extreme irrational narratives have gone all out to support them. Borrowing a phrase from Trump himself it has used in a world turned upside down it seems that in today's MAGA Republican Party it's the uneducated who are manipulating the well educated.
