this is a state court conviction. Michael Cohen was in the federal system. This is sort of off topic

Agree although I wouldn't exactly call it off-topic. When I used the phrase "special accommodations" I was referring to special accommodations within Riker's although another possibility could be a minimum security state prison.

This rather long thread shows the difficulty in assessing the potential damage to the United States of trump's illegal hoarding (and non-securing) of national defense information. The two largest obstacles are the unknown exposure of the docs and a criminal investigation by the DOJ may be underway. What a mess.

Don't worry. It's all OK. Trump had no intent on the sensitive materials ever reaching hands where it can do damage. Therefore, all is good! o_O

Thanks for the clarification. Still can't see AW going to any place like Riker's. It'll be some minimum security white collar joint.

How could he possibly testify against the company without testifying against Trump himself when it was Trump who gave him orders on how to do everything?

I need to try the “intent is the standard” explanation next time I get pulled over for speeding. We’ll see how it works out.

This was Comey’s statement as to why Hillary wasn’t charged. Intent isn’t the standard, it is one of a whole host of considerations. And yes, I expect Trump to be held to a similar standard, whatever that means. But to say that intent is the only thing that matters simply is wrong.

Exactly. Intent is only one standard. Cooperation is another, as pointed out by efforts to obstruct justice. I would say lying that all classified materials were returned and not complying with the subpoena to return the materials the FBI knew Trump had were classified is obstruction. Then there is also willful mishandling of classified information. On Hillary's email server, they found 113 potential classified emails out of 30,000, with only 3 that were potentially problematic. But also a lot of email responses from Hillary stating if the conversation were to continue, it needed to move to a more secure way of communication. Again, Trump lied on the affidavit and ignored the subpoena to return the classified docs. And kept them in an unsecure location that is accessible to members of the public, as MAR is not only a residence, but a club.

    Easy.

While Trump’s name may be on the company, he’s really just the coffee boy and doesn’t know anything.

It actually worked for me last time I got pulled over. I went through a stop sign in my community (that basically everyone coasts through since it’s a 3 way stop in a 20mph zone). I see some ass holes blow through these stop signs it at 50mph (especially at night). The cop pulled me over and asked me if I knew why I was pulled over. I was honest: I said, I didn’t come to a complete stop but I tried to slow down, sorry. The cop said “well, at least you tried” and let me off with a warning. I didn’t need to pull out my white privilege card or anything.

Several former senior administration individuals in the Trump administration call BS on the idea that Trump declare a standing order to declassify documents. They will be lumped into today's RINOs i.e. anyone who calls out Trump's lies, crimes, and corruption.

CNN Exclusive: 'Ludicrous.' 'Ridiculous.' 'A complete fiction.': Former Trump officials say his claim of 'standing order' to declassify is nonsense - CNNPolitics

Washington (CNN)In the days since the FBI seized classified and top secret documents from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, the former President and his allies have claimed that Trump had a "standing order" to declassify documents he took from the Oval Office to the White House residence.

But 18 former top Trump administration officials tell CNN they never heard any such order issued during their time working for Trump, and that they believe the claim to be patently false.
Several officials laughed at the notion. One senior administration official called it "bullsh*t." Two of Trump's former chiefs of staff went on the record to knock down the claim.
