If you recall, she claimed to read all the newspapers and magazines but couldn't name a single one. That would put her in pretty small company.
I don;t read them either, but do you think that mattered in 2008 when computers and the internet had all the information/News you could consume? I heard her statement, and to me it was more like a jab into the heart of the establishment MSM more than anything. But you know the news people, they love to interject their own narrative, and that narrative was make her look dumb at all cost...
Then why did she say she read them all? And the much of the news on the internet is newspapers and magazines.
Ask her, but maybe "all" magazines does NOT include the New York Times? The word "all" is used as hyperbole in most cases.
I think too many people were confused between Sarah Palin and Tina Fey. Too many people thought the caricature was the real person.
The conversation really had nothing to do with the Times. The question was where she got her information. Apparently it was too difficult for her to answer. But, in her defense, all indications are that she didn't get much information from anywhere.
Watch Palin’s Piers Morgan interview. If anything, Tina Fey probably under played how dumb this woman is.
You would think a genius would be able to come up with a better argument than a blatant straw man. I've never heard anyone suggest you "double everyone's income" to reduce poverty and income gaps. I have heard things like raise minimum wage and tax the wealthy to fund social programs ... both of which do help reduce poverty and ease income gaps.
It's going to take a while to get accustomed to rank choice playing out in real time. Assuming a strong partisan bias, I think Palin is in pretty good shape. I suspect the novelty and slight complexity of rank choice will be used against it to delegitimize elections by the MAGA party.
I thought Tina was hot until that one bit where Sarah Palin walked by her on a backstage walk-by skit where they paused to look at each other... Palin was/is HOT and Tina looked mousey... with a rat nose. I thought they were identical until that side by side comparison. And Tina was also very tiny compared to Sarah Palin. I actually laughed out loud when it happened.
I they should give you guys a “hate” button. I feel like the dislike button is just not strong enough.
The difference is that although not exact quotations a fair percentage of Tina Fey's dialogue in the sketches was very close to Palin's actual statements. For example although Palin never said that she could see Russia from her home as Fey did in a skit she did use language to the effect that since Russia could be seen from one point in Alaska (a very small island in the Aleutians by the way which is within visual range of a Russian island on a clear day) the proximity of which somehow provided her with knowledge on foreign policy insofar as Putin and Russia were concerned.
