I thought the border was "open?" How can it be open if we're catching so many crossing?

The numbers are not a surprise either. Numbers dropped significantly during the pandemic and Title 42. Now that we're treating COVID as endemic and Title 42 is gone, we're seeing an influx of immigrants who were waiting before they could cross. We'll likely see the numbers normalize in the upcoming months.

Goes to show you that nothing we do stops the influx of immigrants. They come because they are pushed out of their home countries because of war, poverty, famine, and violence. The only way to stop them from coming is repair their home countries, so there are jobs and lives for them there. But until that happens, the immigrants are coming. Better for us to process them in a legal manner, allow them to find jobs here if they can, and give them an eventual choice to stay as citizens or return back home after a time. Much more cost effective.

Trump was failing and relying too much on his wall that 12 year-olds can climb over and falls down when it rains, and not making the arrests. Biden's record number of arrests shows what a real president can accomplish.

We need immigrants. Plain and simple. Time to reform immigration laws and welcome those who want to come work and build a life here.

We don't need this many unskilled workers from central America at one time.
Most of these migrants just want to earn a few dollars and then go back home.
Additionally, we're getting terrorists and criminals from several rogue nations.
Instead of 87,000 IRS agents shaking down small business we need 87,000 border agents.

What evidence do you have that we don't need low skilled labor?

So what's your problem then? The temporary nature of their residence? If they agreed to stay and gain citizenship, you would be good with it?

How many terror attacks have been carried out by people who crossed the southern border?

First off, we currently have "skills mismatch" problem as a country.
Most employers will tell you they can't find the right candidates.
Secondly, the poster stated "come here and build a life".
That's not what most of these immigrants have voluntarily stated as well.
They don't share the American dream and would rather watch and play soccer in their own countries.

According to this link, there are 59 million Americans on some sort of "welfare." The largest portion of this population are kids, who receive TANF (food) benefits through free or reduced school lunch programs. Another good portion of people on welfare, as stated by @VAg8r1 already have jobs. They receive welfare because their income still has them at or below the poverty line. Also not listed on the link are Americans who are mentally or physically disabled, and cannot work.

The number of people gaming the system is minimal. And we've needed immigrant labor for generations.

Some will stay and build a life. Others won't. Like every sort of immigration ever. Heck, some might even play soccer in the US.
