Even if it means just a few players or employees vote, it’ll be worth it. Ideally federal Election Day would be national holiday. NBA - Good idea or useless stunt?
1. I think it is a great way to reach out to a segment of young folks to vote that day - even if they werent going to the game... its buzz. 2. I bet viewership sucks last few years with how invested everyone is in the outcome.
Yeah, I like it. As mentioned, if nothing else it raises awareness on the importance of voting among younger disproportionately minority fans, who are the least likely to vote. Forget about your politics, the more people who vote, across the spectrum, the better off we will be as a country.
I'll be voting in person. Why? One, my polling location is across the street from where I live. Two, I don't trust DeSantis's government to not try to look for an excuse to discount my mail-in ballot.
I can see it now: the gop agrees to make election day a national holiday on the following conditions: in person voting only and you must reserve your timeslot in advance, if you miss your timeslot for any reason; tough shit and better luck next time (and no guarantee the on line reservation system will always be functional).
Teddy Roosevelt says hello from the grave. But I do believe it was Trump that suggested that we should plant a billion more trees.
Cool, grab some wings and a pitcher or two and then vote during half-time. All from the comfort of your booth.
