Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday said Americans might be ready “to turn the page” on former President Trump as he decides whether to run for president a third time.

“People conflate Trump with people’s overall sense of happiness in the country. Donald Trump’s been a friend of mine for 25 years, and I’m always very open about this on my show. But, you know we’ll see whether that’s what the country wants,” Ingraham said during an appearance on Lisa Boothe’s podcast. “The country I think is so exhausted. They’re exhausted by the battle, the constant battle, that they may believe that, well, maybe it’s time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all Trump’s policies, who’s not Trump.”

It's gonna be really hard to find someone with all of Trump's policies. Let's see... tax cuts for the rich..... and...... I'm done.

Hope springs eternal. Trump owns the GOP until proven otherwise.

Maybe so, but think about it from Trump’s perspective. He’s out there in the spotlight, a million miles away, every ounce of energy he tries to give away.

If I am not mistaken, his primary claim to fame, besides attempting to get constitutionalists on the SCOTUS (batting 0.667), is that he was sent to Washington blow the whole damn thing up. As Michael Moore, you know, that raging conservative that he is, said "he is going to win the Presidency" and "he is a human Molotov cocktail". The real problem was that we thought a narcissistic salesman could do the Herculean task all by himself (because he said so). No one person (and I mean folks WAY better than him) can do that. The elites are entrenched.

The swamp draining is OUR task. And it will take a LOT of effort, resolve, fits and starts. Probably 12+ years to finally get their m.o. and how to vote the correct persons into office to assist the effort. And then vote them out if they begin to hear the siren's song DC corruption.

But right now, all we care about is to post on internet forums and act righteous. Because, well, we ARE right!

You see what you want to see. Or you are one of those smart idiots, who have relied upon what the "Grand Poobas" tell them is the truth and then faithfully execute their standards of practice (also known as indoctrination). Me? yes, standards are necessary (I come from an engineering background) but to not use your brain to figure out the lay-of-the-land is dangerous. Well, dangerous to society. You may be getting a rather nice paycheck being a good pawn.

And that takes discernment over a period of time. You don't just "get it", it manifests once the pieces of the puzzle begin to form a picture. Apparently you are not in the "picture forming" routine. Pity.

You may get the last word in (I am done with this dialog) and you may go back to being righteously unaware. Don't worry, you are in good company. On all sides.

The only person who can decide when it's time to turn the page on Trump is Trump himself and it doesn't look that's going to happen anytime soon. The guy is a textbook example of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and he lives for the adoration receives from his adoring fans. No way is he going to give that up. Additionally, a decision not run would also reduce his ability to grift off the gullible members of his cult.

Trump doesn’t own the GOP, he owns the MAGAs. That 30% of the population that represents everything that is old, ugly, and bigoted in this country is Trump’s base of support. Real republicans don’t support him at all.

Tell that to the majority of republicans that still support him and the majority of republicans that are buying the big lie.

Most party members vote for the Party, not the person. They don’t want Trump but will vote for him out of party loyalty. People outside the militias and white supremacy groups are exhausted with Trump, and I expect that’s why they’ll nominate mini Trump DeSantis. Out of spite Trump will run as a third party candidate assuring the Democrats hold the White House.

I was going to say the same thing.. Trump doesn't care what the country wants, just what he wants. The country didn't want him in 2020, he can't accept that.

The best scenario for democrats would be if Trump runs and loses the primary, then spends the next few months burning the house down. "Rigged primaries" and raging against Desantis and every republican who didn't support him. Probably would kill Republican turn out. That said, I think if Trump runs he easily wins the primary.
