I said the exact same thing to the “lock her up” morons. It would be pretty absurd to jail a Secretary of State (who may be the originator) of classified documents. You need more than just “mishandling” them through a server, you need to show intent to possess them.

The funny thing is I’m pretty sure one of my standards showing “intent” was that if she had physical boxes stashed away. Funnily enough, the orange one has boxes stashed away AND he was not forthcoming about them. On that level we are already beyond Clinton in terms of intent. The other matter is the “value” of these stolen materials compared to the Clinton documents. *If* these are spy lists and nuclear secrets that obviously points to something… not good. Of course if that’s what these turn out to be, we will never actually be able to verify for ourselves as we will never see the actual documents.

Nope. Wrong. In any jury trial, it would be a fact question as to whether he declassified the documents. Failure to follow the procedures for declassification or to mark them would be evidence he never declassified them. He just can’t have it in his head that they are declassified and announce they are declassified after he leaves the White House. After he is out of power. If he can sell a fact finder in the fact he declassified then whole President, good for him. If you buy his BS, that is on you. He never declassified these documents and it is time for his sycophants to stop lying for him or accepting his nonsense. And, classification is not synonymous with the term “national defense secrets” in the Espionage Act. The classification system was developed decades after that WW1 era Act. So, declassification doesn’t matter. He mishandled documents about a weapons system, which is enough under the Act.

Public sourcing: WAPO and the WSJ (Murdoch) report that it included matters related to nuclear weapons. And Newsweek reported that the documents include spy’s in the payroll. All marked classified with no record of any declassification. Anywhere. With this new post hoc rationalization. His sycophants are defending Trump taking those documents. Obviously leaked by the government to underscore the seriousness of this issue.

and what about an ex president. Sorry to disappoint you, but Trump hasn’t been president for a year and a half. He can’t decide now that he declassified these documents a year and a half ago. And the idea that the FBI cannot seize top Secret sci documents from the home if an ex president that is keep them in a closet — especially given the public source reporting of what these document are— is baseless. Trump has his chances to return the documents and didn’t. They lied about having them. And Trump never declassified these documents. That is a bald face lie.

Again, it's all speculation on their part and hope on yours and the rest of the Trump haters. When this is all said and done, it will be nothing more than some bullshit charge where he won't be fined or arrested for anything, and the dems again will look foolish like they did during the impeachments and witch hunts. All this food for the sheep and you guys are eating it up

The "libs" did not execute the search warrant. The people's DOJ did based on probable cause that our national security was at risk. Do you care about national security?

    Partisan thinking is stupid thinking.

No, it hasn’t. Not in the world of the 30% of normal republicans, independents or democrats. 60% if this country is aghast at the nature of the documents that are described in that return in the warrant. We don’t expect the fringe— like you- to see it like the rest of us. Because the bonds to wanna be autocrats and his base are much too strong. And we know what those bonds are even if the rules here don’t allow us to say it. This does not strengthen Trump among his supporters because those bonds are unbreakable. Look at the garbage lies bought here: that Trump secretly declassified the documents in his brain. And posters here believe it. Wow.

If not selling national secrets, maybe he wanted to have blackmail leverage over the U S. government, government officials and agents, financial institutions, and foreign leaders for political power and/or financial gain. This fits his mob boss mentality perfectly. It would allow him to bully all of the above to get what he wants. Maybe he thought having this leverage might deter well warranted investigations and prosecutions.

The receipt for items confiscated from MAL lists files still marked Top Secret. If they had been declassified through established process or trump brain waves, they would have been marked Declassified. The law is very clear on this.

For emphasis. The ignorance of those defending Trump on handling classified material is enormous.

    Remember this:

"When President Donald Trump tweeted that he had authorized the full declassification of all documents having to do with the Russia investigation, he didn't mean it literally and didn't intend to make information from the Mueller investigation public, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said in a court filing Tuesday."

Trump's tweet on 'total' declassification of Russia docs isn't an order, White House tells judge

Like I said, if you really believe these top secret docs were properly declassified, then try a FOIA request … should be no problem, right?

So weird he would do this if the documents were already declassified under a “standing order”
