I have to give you credit for regurgitating the narrative of the pro-Trump right. The Republican officeholders that you have referred to as "RINOs" are Republicans in name only because they have refused to kowtow to Donald Trump and go along with his absurd narrative that he really won the election and that it was stolen from massive but mythical voter fraud and/or they have refused to excuse his role in the events of January 6, 2021. Today's Republican Party might as well be called the Cult of the Donald since the most important litmus test of being a "real" Republican is worship of one very charismatic and deranged individual rather than conservative policy. As far as policy is concerned virtually all of the so called RINOs who lost primaries are as "Republican" as Ronald Reagan.

How many times have you seen your nation's capital violently attacked by neo-facists urged on by a President of the United States who refused to call for any Federal assistance while capital police officers were injured and worse. You're going to be seeing quite a bit more in the coming days and it won't be pretty for the Trump followers.

One can only guess, but a good one would be monetary. It usually is with him. But who knows. It will probably be revealed at some point.

That you cling to that is just sad. How one can continue to make excuses for that POS stumps me.

Who is in charge of classifying documents?

New twist in FBI raid: Trump had 'standing order' to declassify documents taken to residence

The president's defense is rooted in the legal principal that the president and vice president are the ultimate declassifying authority of the U.S. government and through executive orders most recently issued in 2003 by George W. Bush and Barack Obama in 2009 that specifically exempt the president and vice president from having to follow the stringent declassification procedures every other federal agency and official must follow.

Trump has maintained for weeks that any documents still containing classified markings in his possession after he left office were previously declassified. On Friday night, the statement issued to Just the News explained exactly how that declassification occurred in his mind.

The very fact that these documents were present at Mar-a-Lago means they couldn’t have been classified," the former president's office stated. "As we can all relate to, everyone ends up having to bring home their work from time to time. American presidents are no different. President Trump, in order to prepare for work the next day, often took documents including classified documents from the Oval Office to the residence.

In 1978 900+ people were so deep into a cult they all committed suicide together.

What you are asking is essentially to understand the deeper psychology of how people join cults, how their leaders exercise this lasting control over their perception of reality.

Doesn't work this way. First, docs marked SCI can only be opened in safe rooms called SCIF rooms. Mar a Lago has no SCIF, and there was at least one packet the FBI took marked SCI.

And time and time again, you've been told a POTUS just can't magically declassify something and that's that. There needs to be documentation of the declassification order, and the docs must be marked appropriately. If these things don't happen, there's no way for anyone to distinguish between classified and declassified docs.

Last, as for Trump sycophants, they are enablers in a toxic relationship with Trump. They truly believe Trump loves them, and can do nothing wrong. They make excuse after excuse for Trump, and always make poor Donnie out to be the victim. It never occurs to them that Donnie is the problem.

It's so foreign to me, this suspension of our reasoning ability and descending into some kind of robotic trance. Perhaps it's comforting not having to worry about the toil of decisions and consequences.

Are you suggesting the president can declassify any document, even one of the highest security, take it home with him, and then refuse to return it?
I can't think of any other explanation for this continued focus on the right to declassify. If I'm wrong, please enlighten me.

Wow, you literally had to reach out to Australia (to a non-lawyer, it should be noted) to find somebody to provide you the information you wanted? That's a bit sad.

There already is a grand jury. The initial efforts at obtaining the documents were by a grand jury subpoena. Also note that the warrant is identified as DE 17 in the filing brand.

You would think that these are copies, or originals that have copies that are still in the governments possession. That I do not know, nor did read it in any of the article posted here.
