I know I’m going to regret asking this, but how do you figure on beating a country as large and well armed as Iran in two days?

 

Not sure how he is going to rationalize the statement but it would seem only possible through the use of nukes which by virtually any standard would be unthinkable.

 

Possibly. That would reflect a common misconception among Americans that international actions can take place in a vacuum with no second and/or third-order effects in other parts of the world. Who really thinks we could just nuke Iran (unless they used such weapons first, of course) while China and Russia would just be, like, “Well, that sucks for Iran”?

 

Is war easy for you? I guess if you are NOT the one fighting... it's easy for people like you. Forget the consequences that even a drone attack might have.

What kind of clown show security guards did he have at that event? I would have had several men with uzis...

 

Apparently, he used to have serious, 24-hour security. But it has been over 30 years without a real attempt to speak of, and I suppose he has been thinking, “Who cares about an old man after all of this time?” Anyone could get complacent.

 

The attacker's name is Matar. Can't think of a better name for a would-be assassin. It means "to kill" in Spanish.

 

You’re correct. I have no doubt we could have a quick war if we just wanted to wipe them out and not care about international consequences. If we want regime change it would be a different story.
