For Trumpers it will never be 'proved'. When you live in fantasy land nothing is proved unless you want it to be.
When I say differently, I fully believe that is was lawful and they had all the i's dotted and t's crossed. Not having the knowledge to know what all steps had been taken already and how much cooperation or lack there of over these documents the last few months, none of us know how necessary it was. When I say different, I mean I would have been public about this once it was signed that this was going to happen. It has already been stated it was signed on Friday and not executed till Monday night so urgency wasn't necessarily the case, plus many have stated they have been under surveillance so destruction would not be an option. Just think I would have been very public on the front end. When things are done in the light of day it makes conspiracy tales harder to believe. That's all I mean
He's always been pretty far right, but he wasn't so detached from reality. You could post facts and he would change the subject rather than continue to insist that the false thing was true.
WSJ News Exclusive | FBI Recovered Eleven Sets of Classified Documents in Trump Search, Inventory Shows
Apparently this was an ongoing process. Here’s the thing. You appear to be putting the onus on “doing things differently” 100% on the DOJ people conducting the search to recover these materials. This has been going on for months. I remember hearing months ago about the national archives getting those boxes, I didn’t think much of it… kind of a “well that figures, Trump ignored the proper process”. If Trump held back the most sensitive documents including nuclear secrets he definitely should have never had, and was in fact lying or possibly stonewalling their return, shouldn’t he be the greater target of your “doing things differently” ire? Why is it just on the people trying to recover them using legal mechanisms, vs. the one who actually stole them?
I'm not a lawyer so I can't answer that. But i'd think him publicly stating release it will get it released. Still sidetracked from those who were adamant that Trump wouldn't want it released.
I'm surprised Trump isn't fighting the release of the warrant. I thought he would. But I guess Trump is too boxed in at this point, and Garland won this round. Instead, Trump and his lawyers are arguing the stuff the FBI took has been unclassified by Trump. Trump sycophants will eat this up, and as President, Trump can declassify pretty much what he wants. But there is a definite process that needs to be followed when something is declassified. And all declassified documents bear a seal with the word "Declassified" and the date. Otherwise, how is anyone supposed to know which documents are declassified, which are still classified, and who can see what? The President can't just wave his hand over a document and call it declassified, and magically, it is. Then there are the documents that even the POTUS cannot declassify. Generally, these are nuclear secrets. Two reasons why the declassified already defense will fail.
Trump could have made the warrant public on Monday. Why did he wait until after Garland announced that he had asked the judge to release the warrant? Given the situation, the warrant was going to be released either way.
It can't ever be proven to those who refuse to question Trump. Trump has already thrown out "they planted it" so that will be what we hear from the cult if the info comes out that he did have nuclear secrets.
The most interesting part is the concept of whether the officials “come up with something”. There seems to be common disagreement on this point. The right and left seem to disagree (on opposite sides) about whether both the FBI probe of Hillary and special counsel probe of Trump came up with something. Neither ended up being charged, and in both cases accusations of corruption were leveled because of that.
