    Also noticed that ABC
They had been warned from someone high up in the party that they needed to back off. That was before the Post dropped the bomb (no pun intended) about the nuclear weapons document(s).

I read the twitter feed.. it looks like they showed up and spoke about Hunter, Clinton, the senate baseball shooting, and Russian Hoax. Also said they need to see more information on this warrant thing.

I get that, and I also have a hard time believing he was trying to sell the info, I just can’t think of any reason to take the documents. Could there be something in there that makes him look bad? Like transcripts of calls or something? Knowing Trump, that seems like a more likely reason why’d he take the boxes of documents. I can picture his maids digging through boxes of nuclear secretes trying to find the transcript where he mispronounced “Geneva”….

I don’t discount the $$$ angle. The Russian Oligarch money is dried up and we know he’s playing ball with the Saudi’s (literally, since he’s hosted 2 big money Saudi golf events… a golf league that makes zero sense economically from a rational ROI perspective… unless)

He didn’t sell the stuff. Not impossible that someone else found the docs and did, but that’s not Trump’s style.
Based on his personality, the most likely scenario is that when he left office, being who he is, he wanted everything, legal or not, taken to his home - Because it’s “his”. National Archives protests via DOJ, but you can’t tell Trump he did something wrong kr take anything that was “his”, so he rebuffed them. They pushed, and when you push him he pushes back, so the DOJ had no choice but to go get them. And here we are.

I am most concerned that US counter intelligence may have discovered some of this data in the wrong hands or has determined that overseas assets have been compromised.

    A padlock?

Big grain of salt because of who it is (unfortunately, like when you prosecute organized crime and, almost without fail, your witnesses are all criminals, when you try to get insider info to Trump world, the only sources are huge liars), but Stephanie Grisham said that she wouldn't be surprised if he kept them because he thought they were a cool thing to show his buddies.

I think you are dead-on as far as Trumps personality trait vs. law enforcement (total opposite to deference to the rule of law). But I think he probably did have a motive beyond just “hoarding”. He must have at least imagined some use for them, either sale or blackmail (depending on the precise nature of the document). I would hope he didn’t make any moves to sell or trade, as that raises to a whole different level of betrayal.

It also wouldn’t be surprising to see Trumps lawyers block the warrant despite what Trump has said. That’s basically his M.O. “I totally want to release my tax returns, but I’m under perpetual audit and my lawyers say I can’t”. Watch that happen here!

Even if the warrant itself is released, no classified documents will be released and the warrant will likely be heavily redacted. So plenty of room for Trump to pander to conspiracy theorists. I.e “Why so many redactions, what don’t they want you to see, what are they hiding, etc”.

Even though he is free to release them himself. And his sheeple will just eat it up.

Yeah, does seem weird that Trump posted last night that he fully supports the release of the warrant…. Yet, he could release it himself…. More lies…

Saddest part to me on this whole deal is. If you hate Trump their has been plenty of commentary from those who hate him that support your hate and the worst possible things Trump could have done. If you are Trump supporter there has been plenty of commentary questioning some of the conclusions that no one really knows yet.
The soup is made now and everyone will run to their corner and say what they will no manner what the truth may actually be.
If Trump done something or had something so egregious it called for this unprecedented "raid" it was handled about as bad as you could handle it.
Haters were going to hate more and lover's are going to love more. I don't really care which line you fall on. but to help reduce the tension and divisiveness in this country, this could have been handled differently. From a legal perspective I believe this is all new ground considering we are discussing a former president

Don’t confuse him. His mind was made up the very minute the FBI appeared with the warrant. “Illegal! Deep state shenanigans!”
