I strongly disagree, but not for the reasons you laid out. If Trump’s DOJ went after his political opponents and came up with something, I do believe left leaning folks here would burn its own person at the proverbial stake. If his DOJ came up with nothing, most on the left would believe the institutions were doing their jobs appropriately. There just isn’t the level of distrust of institutions on the left that you believe exist equally. Sorry, just my own damn opinion.

You're probably correct, the difference is that Obama would have never knowingly transported classified documents from the White House to his residence. Similarly, there has never been any indication that Obama violated the Presidential Records Act. In a way Trump's behavior is another indication that he is unlike any of his predecessors and using a number of criteria in addition to the one regarding his mishandling of documents not in a good way.

A much more recent example would be how the left turned on Cuomo when the allegations of sexual misconduct came out vs. how the right deflected/ignored the allegations of sexual misconduct of Trump.
