I'd be curious if the technical institutions had a major increase in students. Plumbers, electricians, AC, AV, ect ect are killing it in FL.

Its really no secret that our only real plan to compete with China is to have a dumber workforce that will work for less money. Especially since we dont want 'low skill' immigrants coming here ... so who do you think is going to be the low skill workers that do all those jobs?

my guess… Universities don’t care. Absent state legislators mandating US citizens having priority in state schools, we are in a US economic replacement strategy for future talent, business owners, and innovation — maybe we have always been this. Look at the PhD programs enrollments. The best and brightest from around the world coming to US Universities and destroying the grading curves. Distance learning is expanding to educate beyond borders. Sadly, US born talent is a replaceable commodity. Competition is global.

Right, which puts the arguments of college / university price control vs capitalist supply and demand at odds. Why would a University cut tuition if they can fill it with someone willing to pay? The only answer is nationalize the education to your citizens or let the free markets decide. But, hey… no complaining if you are fixing the pipes for someone who speaks with an accent.
