President Trump's endorsement candidates made a clean sweep of the August 9 republican primaries: Trump-Backed Candidates Sweep Board Day After FBI Raids Mar-A-Lago (breitbart.com) Trump picked up a bonus win on Monday when a congresswoman from the state of Washington who voted to impeach Trump was defeated in the 8/2 primary by a Trump endorsed candidate. Trump's endorsement record among U.S. Senate candidates is 17-0. Next up: Liz Cheney. Liz is going down in flames in Wyoming. There aren't enough socialist communist voters in Wyoming to switch over to bail her out so her turnout will be light while Trump's endorsed candidate's turnout skyrockets. I'm predicting a 28-point loss for Liz. The sweeping victories make Trump’s endorsement record immaculate in 31 states. Texas: 33-0 Indiana: 6-0 Ohio: 16-0 West Virginia: 2-0 Kentucky: 6-0 Pennsylvania: 8-0 Alabama: 6-0 Arkansas: 5-0 California: 7-0 [8-0 with Rep. Connie Conway’s (R-CA) special election victory] Iowa: 4-0 Mississippi: 1-0 Montana: 2-0 New Jersey: 1-0 South Dakota: 1-0 Nevada: 2-0 North Dakota: 2-0 Virginia: 4-0 Alaska: 1-0 Colorado: 1-0 Illinois: 4-0 Oklahoma: 4-0 Utah: 3-0 Maryland: 1-0 Kansas: 5-0 Missouri: 4-0 Michigan: 7-0 Arizona ( 9-0) Tennessee (8-0) Connecticut (1-0) Minnesota (3-0) Wisconsin (6-0) Trump picked up an extra win Monday, after Wasserman declared Trump-endorsed Joe Kent advanced to the general election for Washington’s Third Congressional District over Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, who voted for Trump’s impeachment. Midterm primaries continue on August 13 in Hawaii.
Republicans voting to fully endorse Party of Domestic Terror led by Corrupt wannabe-yet-too-stupid-to-be Dictator. Check. Congrats, you must be very proud. How many of those won with financial backing from the Democrats by the way??
Good idea. Let's leave Georgia off our schedule when determining wins and losses this football season.
As I have said repeatedly, the GOP is the party of election denier/liars and autocracy. Trump’s Endorsements have in common that lying about the results of the 2020 election is a litmus test to be endorsed. The GOP has left traditional conservatives. They have a hard choice to support these candidates in the fall. But, they will. Because at the end of the day, they will sell out freedom to defeat the Democrats. And justify it based on the policies they prefer. And, with respect to the House, it has been so gerrymandered as to ensure this. DeSantis’ map changed the dynamic from 16-11 GOP/Dem to 20-8 GOP/Dem at the same time as it cut African American representation. The Florida Courts neutered the fair District’s Amendment by misapplying the status quo doctrine. Because if the state imposed an illegal map that cannot be enjoined, it ensures that the state constitution is neutered for at least the next election. This shameful post is posted proudly in the OP. Democracy Dies in Darkness.
The liberal plan of running against the most unelectable candidates republicans can find is working to perfection.
I've often wondered if the appeal and attraction by GOP or Trump voters / supporters is related to: A) The man himself and his political ideology. or B) A rejection of the status quo / frustration / the "burn it all down crowd". While I do not support him myself, upon examination of his past and character, I do have some level of understanding or sympathy with the "Burn it all down crowd". The "Burn it all down" phrase actually came from a poster right here on TH whom supported Trump. I recall in my first American Gov't Class in college, the professor taught us Freshmen that the great "Weakness" of any Democracy, was the inability to accomplish things by "Gov't" in a 2 party or multi party system, (France for example) which leads to heightened tension and frustration among the citizenry. Change happens much more "slowly" as compared to totalitarian (strongman) regimes. History is repleat with totalitarian rulers / or Gov'ts. The success or failure of these totalitarians is a mixed bag. It would be intellectually dishonest for Western Democracies to dismiss them outright. Western Historians have grudingly applied a title to those rulers that have had some success, they call them "Benevolent Dictators". Current examples: Xi Jinping / China Kim Jong-un / N Korea Vladimir Putin / Russia Fahd bin Abdul Aziz / Saudi Arabia Bashar al-Assad / Syria To name a few of the more prominant ones. Interestingly "Dictators" control more than 1/2 of all the political boudries and far more of the geography of the populated areas of the planet. Some would argue that the great catastrophe(s) of the 20th century - The first and second world wars - was actually a battle for world domination between different ideological power bases - Totalitarians and Democratic Gov'ts. - Fortunately for Democracies, WW2 was skewed by 2 rather undesirable totalitarians "fighting it out" between themselves - Hitler and Stalin of course. Had they been allied, and for those that forget - they partitioned Poland between themselves, - the world we live in would be quite different. Back to Trump, Here is what confuses me a bit. For the burn it down crowd, of which apparantly the author of this thread is one, I find it incomprehensible that any rationale minded person, whom follows the information flow at all and the Jan 6th committe meetings, would deny that a "coup" attempt was made, with the specific purpose of keeping Donald Trump in office as titular head of the United States, a "dictator" in other words, and that Mr. Trump not only encourged this coup but was an active participant in it. The above list, provided by ET, are candidates that have publicly stated that they are supporters of the Trump endorsed policy of overthrowing the current system of elections, and putting Mr. Trump in office as titular leader of this country as a (Dictator). With due respect to Trump supporters, including ET, if you think that non totalitarians and believers in the right to vote and a Democratic form of Gov't, are unaware of EXACTLY what is going on, whom you are endorsing, and what is at stake..........well, many of us see right through you, his supporters and the con being played out. We know what is at stake.
Well, if we all wait until the clock strikes "0", we WILL know who won the game. Unless all you want to do is to cause a bunch of turbulence in the system so that the November voters will just plain not vote. You know, because all the brains are on the "other side". And I am sure they are quite inclined to listen to what is being said from "your side".
So if we talk about Trump we have TDS, yet it is obvious he owns the gop; making him relevant. So which is it? It is it only TDS if we dare to disagree with him? As long as we kiss his ass it's all good? Asking for a friend. As others have stated, it is no longer about policy differences between R and D. It is more about what kind of country we are going to be. Authoritarianism with a side order of theocracy or the continuation of the constitutional republic regardless of policy differences?
One minute they’re complaining about all the attention powerless, irrelevant and harmless Trump is getting…the next minute they’re bragging about how powerful Trumps influence still is. I’m gonna need y’all to pick one narrative and stick to it
If this is the case and Trump even has a slim chance of winning assuming he is not banned from office before 2024.. you guys need to change the way you talk to the opposition. These people aren't ALL voting for Trump. They are voting for their families and their wallets. They are voting to be able to put food on their tables. Sure, some of them are easy to spot and if they are lock step Trump supporters who also support Jan 6 even knowing Trump has something to do with it, leave them alone and move on. Maybe they simply just dont see eye to eye with you on Jan 6 and that its Trumps fault. There is no evidence to say he did anything other than nothing (I've already stated multiple times this and other reasons should not make him be president, but thats only MY opinion). Well over half of Trump voters are not voting for Trump or his antics. They are voting for what they think will help their family. To judge them otherwise until you know 100% is straight up bullchit. Not only are your probably wrong, it makes you a closed minded judgemental a-hole which goes against the "inclusion" mantra. Extend an olive branch to Trump "supporters" who will listen and have a legit convo. Treat them equal with your intent and your words. If you can't get through to them, thats fine - move on. Don't flame them, let them be judged elsewhere. You guys simply don't seem to realize that YOU above all else continue to deepen the divide. You're not going to get anywhere flaming all of them into oblivion because that will only breed more resolve for their cause and quite frankly could cause neutrals to vote Trump just because they don't like the rhetoric from some of you. I know, this will fall on deaf ears because while libs have the book smarts down, they are not so great in the common sense department. Give it a try. Treat them as if they were a minority or LGBT.. you know, that white glove "they can't help it" pseudo prejudice thought process you guys like to refer to as "empathy".
That all sounds well and good, but even within the GOP if you don't tow the Trump line you are an outcast.
Aren’t they all voting for Trump-endorsed Republican candidates in primaries vs other Republicans who presumably would also do all the things you reference? They’re voting for Trump. Period. And I’m not saying don’t treat them respectfully. I’m just saying I think you’re wrong about what they are voting for.
How will you stop a war if you continue to shoot your weapons though? Are you guys simply going to go with two wrongs make a right? They do X Y Z so F them, their family and anyone else who dares to vote for Trump? That is the answer? It's not an easy sell, but selling something or a different view is much easier on friendly terms. The main thing you guys could stop doing is lumping all "trump supporters" as one group. Here's a shocker, maybe some people are simply voting because they had more money when Trump was in office and could put more food on their tables, pay their bills... ever thought of that? Or maybe, its some rich guy that simply doesn't want to be apart of wealth redistribution of his/her hard earned money nor do they want to be taxed and targets by the IRS. You see, there are tricks to the trade on both sides. You claim to be so far away from Authoritarianism but you're the ones giving more money to the IRS to audit more people and taxing people more money who are above a certain tax bracket and saying you're going to take everyones non-autonomous cars so that we can save lives. All that for a "landmark bill" that we will "talk about for 100 years" that this was the point we took money from the rich and put it all in green initiative to ... "stop inflation". All the while if you don't agree... you are a racist, POS, biggotted, homophobic, Trump lover who wants to dictate the world and irradicate all other people off the face of the earth Nazi style. You see how stupid that shit is? You guys are smart enough to come up with a different strategy.
This is a Republican issue. Non-cultist Republicans have been claiming Trump's hold on the party is waning. Trump cultists obviously differ. But is really an intra-party issue. My concern is when it becomes a more general issue. What happens then is TBD.
" You guys" I am not a democrat. I am one of millions of Americans who are in the middle between the batchit crazy extremes. It is more often the Trumpists who trot out that false dichotomy that you either support him or you are some kind of America hating radical leftist communist pedohile who wants to destroy the country. Those are not the only two options.
