I posted the link in your post below as it's easy to overlook in your post, but well worth reading. My takeaway: in order for issuance of a search warrant directed at a former president, even one as corrupt as Trump, more than probable cause is needed. There must be almost conclusive proof of a crime. As someone noted, he's in "deep trouble".
The true meaning of TDS. Not just the far right. It's an infection of the entire right side of the aisle.
That, while I agree that this is probably a search warrant that should require the personal approval of the Attorney General, I don’t know that we can conclusively say it got it. In part because, if you were going out of your way to make sure you dotted every i and crossed every t so that your actions would be unassailable, I personally probably would have wanted more judicial cover than approval by the duty magistrate.
Deep trouble compounded: Federal court rules that House committee can access Trump’s tax records. Trump having a not-so-good say.
10 days before the election. Relevant to the whole Dems concocted the raid ahead of the midterms nonsense.
You can literally name all the radical lefties on one hand. The radical righties would take more hands. You didn’t even comprehend the post.
Lawyers received instructions to secure Trump's document room months before the FBI search at Mar-a-Lago: report Sources told ABC News the search was related to 15 boxes of documents Trump took from the White House to Mar-a-Lago resort following the end of his presidency. During the FBI's search Monday morning, the agency was verifying that no other documents were still at the resort after the National Archives retrieved the documents in February, a source told CNN.
I think his point is if we are going to conduct no knock raids at the home of former President’s, let’s make sure the Director is aware due to the pending political shitstorm that will result rather than have it be executed by some lower level agent in a field office.
Here’s What To Know About Trump’s Document Controversy That Led To Mar-A-Lago Raid The New York Times notes it’s likely high-ranking officials at the DOJ, such as Attorney General Merrick Garland, would also have had to sign off on the raid for it to go forward. Former federal prosecutor Barbara McQuade told Bloomberg the raid appeared to be the first time a warrant has ever been executed for a former president’s home, noting, “Even President Nixon received a subpoena for his recordings.”
We'll know if Garland and Wray weren't in on the warrant if there are some DOJ lawyers and FBI agents in West Palm looking for work in the near future. If I'm doing something that could potentially cause this much blowback, which anyone with 1/2 a brain knows raiding Mar a Lago would, I'm sure as hell making sure the person on top knows what is coming.
Trump has the warrant. If this is a witch hunt then he should show the warrant and prove it. He won't though because he's hiding something. Remember when he complained about the White House toilets not flushing properly? Now it makes sense
