Rapid, uninformed decisions are always the best ones. Ready, fire, aim always works best

They don't care if they are right. If they aren't, they will just create a narrative that covers for it.

I wonder if fbi have inside info somehow. Trump kind of has a big mouth. Presumably fbi had hard data they decided to act on considering the political fallout this will have.

yep. Quickest posting and also one of the more worthless threads. You could read 35 pages and not learn much.

You don't need to do what they did for "archive material". If one can't see that than I can't help you. We have many Dems saying the same thing. DOJ will now boost trump to the presidency if it's for archives only. Berger also wasn't a former president. Big difference. Everyone knows that or should.

They already reclaimed some of the archive material that Trump voluntarily provided. If he still had boxes of the stuff (and they apparently walked out with boxes of papers), what would you suggest would be the proper method for ensuring the law is followed, or would you suggest that it shouldn't be?

And it is interesting that you think Former Presidents should be at least more immune from laws. Ruling class, I guess.

Sending in the FBI isn't the answer. Not sure why it's so hard to grasp. IF that is what they were after. I'll wait until the DOJ releases a statement but there is a reason many on the left are calling this out. They see what will happen. Some have their head in the sand.

Regardless of what Trump did or didn't do people would support him. The FBI could find video evidence of Trump breaking the law and his supporters will just shrug it off and mention Hunter Biden

Then what is? Let him have it? The archives already stated that they had referred the case to DOJ (FBI is the enforcement arm of the DOJ). What should they have done if he didn't comply?

Again, I don't disagree with the effect/result here. I still think you're giving all parties too much credit here.

"He stumbled upon a useful idiot who questions the legitimacy of anything and everything that doesn't agree with his distorted reality." -- You've just described pretty much every politician in the history of politics. They're by and large all lawyers and (to a lesser extent) accountants which means that they will argue anything and everything put in front of them to a fault if it doesn't fit their view of the world. Trump does it with WAY more extremist bullying bombast than anyone previously, but one could also argue that's actually what got him elected in the first place.

"Beating Hillary, getting a Putin fan (likely compromised during exploits in Moscow) elected, and then creating serious doubt about elections in US (with no proof) is the perfect trifecta for Putin." -- Hillary made a critical error during the election by concentrating on her base to the detriment of the "purple" areas of the country. It's her own fault really. She was overconfident coming into the general election and it cost her. As for Putin getting the trifecta, that's just blind luck. Like getting the final card for a straight on the river.

Highly doubt the FBI entered Mar a Lago for some archival materials only. That may be what they find, but the what judge would sign a warrant to send the FBI into a Former President's residence just to grab archival materials? The warrant has to be for materials that are classified, and the FBI plus the judge agreed leaving these papers at Mar a Lago to be not only against the law, but a larger, national security issue.

It's possible that someone in Trump's orbit flipped, and that's why the home was raided. It's also likely that the National Archives knows what is missing, and when they didn't find it in the boxes Trump voluntarily gave in February, that's when the warrant was requested. Wouldn't surprise me if its a little of both.

The DOJ will release what they were looking for, and whether or not they found it in due time. Depends on if they find what they are looking for, in my opinion.

Apparently lawful search with a lawful warrant is abhorrent to Pubs. Seeing Pubs call for defunding the DoJ/FBI..... more hilarity to follow.

That you cannot imagine any scenario where Trump did something illegal, and the FBI was justified in their actions, says all I need to know about you.
