5 countries. A northeast country that will be big government and high taxes while being moderate to slightly liberal on social issues.

A southeast country that will be very similar to a theocracy. Small government and low taxes but very conservative on social issues.

A midwest country that will be small government and low taxes and pretty middle of the road on social issues.

A mountain west/big sky country that will essentially be no government. Incredibly small government that barely exists with little regulation. Low taxes but very libertarian on social issues.

And yes people will have to move to the country that suits them the most. That means liberals in Florida and Texas will have to get out. That means conservatives in New York and California will need to leave their areas as well.

A west coast country that will be the Democrats dream. Big government and high taxes, everything is free, ownership of anything is banned and completely liberal on all fiscal and social issues.

I despise Trump as much or more than anyone here.
If this was for his actions around the election, I support it. That was an attempt to usurp democracy and needs to be actioned into.
If this was over classified documents I think it’s a terrible mistake and will do real damage to this country long term. As wrong as his actions might have been, it doesn’t rise to the level of damage that enforcing it will, by a factor of 100.

In no way did he incite a riot. You all want to charge him for inciting a riot on 1/6 but yet no one can ever give an exact phrase that he said that could reasonable be considered as inciting a riot.

 

Democrats don’t know when to quit. This may have just enhanced his chances of re-election.

 

Lots of thoughts about how to breakup our country. Good to know where your hopes and desires reside. Might I ask how you expect 3/5 of your new world order to fund itself?

 

There are level of living I'm okay with. But are you? Have fun living in California with no water and no power. Have fun living in New York with no food. You'll quickly find out that your money and economy won't mean anything when you are thirsty and starving. Southern states could charge such an absurd amount for water we would be wealthier than we are currently. Same for midwestern states with wheat, corn and other farming.

Southern and Midwestern countries might not be rich, but I do know this. We won't be thirsty and we won't be starving.

 

Man this Trump search is really bringing the crazies out of the woodwork. Hope we don't see any right-wing violence out of it, but that probably too much to ask for.

But in the end, your world will have no money for infrastructure, education, police, upkeep for the water supply, or housing. You’ll be forced to sell your food, and water supply, to the wealthier states. You’ll have no money to afford a military or police force, so if your neighboring wealthier state wants, they’ll just take your natural resources, or you’ll be forced to sell because your desperate for cash.

Short-sighted revolutionaries should take the time to study basic economics, along with some world history, before embarking upon their unworkable revolution. Also, it might make sense to study some geography because your break-up makes no true demographic sense when you study actual political ideals across each state and intra-state.

 

Good question. many Rs do not like fact checkers but Politifact seems to say the POTUS can do this. Or maybe not.
This fact check regards the classified information trump gave the Russians (Lavarov). Not sure congress can pass laws restricting the POTUS since they are co-equal branches but we'll have to wait for real legal opinions

Sorry if I'm not so concerned about the pacifists on the West Coast coming to raid us for water and food. Most of the people who would live in Northeast or West Coast countries will have never even fired a gun. And the people in the South or Midwest will have more than enough firepower to protect themselves, their water supplies and their food supplies.

We would just end up selling it to the Northeast and West Coast countries, just at a significant mark up from what they pay now (or in the case of water what they essentially get for free). The revenue from natural resources alone would make the South and Midwest significantly wealthy countries and take away a good amount of wealth from the West Coast and Northeast countries.

Honestly I don't even necessarily want it. I just think it's inevitable at this point so we might as well get it over with. I'm also done with caring about what happens to the U.S. as a whole as long as my family and friends are okay.

I have more in common with Conservatives and Libertarians in other countries than I do with people in the U.S. on the left. I guess you could say I'm one of those who will get the popcorn if it all starts to burn.
