This belief that just recognizing and discussing things like transgender or gender dysmorphia will "turn" kids is silly. It's just as silly as showing gay people on TV or allowing gay marriage will turn people gay. The majority of our media and messages throughout time has been gender normative, cis focused, and yet, there have been gay and transgender people who have existed throughout history.

What really happens when you discuss the reality of people's gender identity and/or sexuality is it is recognized that these people exist, they aren't monsters, and they deserve to be welcomed and happy. Trying to ignore that gays or transgender people don't exist only puts people into the closet, and when teens can't feel they deserve to exist, or be happy, that's often when they try to take their own life. But recognize them, and show them they aren't alone, and suicide rates drop.

Again, kids who are prescribed puberty blockers don't wake up one day at 11 or 12 and say hey, I'm transgendered and want puberty blockers. They first have to spend significant time, usually years, living as the opposite gender as what they were born. And also be in therapy for some time. And no therapist is going to turn kids into a transgender kid. That would be doing harm if the kid wasn't truly transgender, and the first thing the therapist is going to try and figure out is the true feelings of the kid.

She is 1,000% correct. Teachers in public schools are there to teach kids, NOT to indoctrinate them into the LGBTQ+LGBFJB. They are pushing a mental disorder that has a 40% suicide rate. How does that help children???

 

Discussing the existence of LGBTQ people and acknowledging them as human beings who have a right to live, love, and be happy is not indoctrination. We teach about slavery in school, yet, it doesn't turn white people into slave owners and AA into slaves! That's because learning and discussion does not equal indoctrination.

But discussing that there are LGBTQ people, and that it's acceptable to be your true self actually lowers the suicide rate! The reasons transgender kids often attempt suicide is a feeling of being alone, outcast, and unaccepted in society. So, ignore their existence altogether in school will likely make matters worse.
