I agree, but my dad told me that it was very traumatic for his friends as they grew older when they lost the right or ability to drive. Our lives are so intertwined with the automobile, unless you happen to live in a big city with good public transport.
Insurance premiums for driving in non-autonomous mode will be prohibitive for all but the rich, making terrorizing the roads a status symbol.
In other L.A. vehicular news, it's fortunate that actress Anne Heche didn't kill a few people when she crashed at high speed into a house, setting both the car and the house on fire. It's probably safe to say that her acting career is over. Anne Heche in critical condition following fiery car crash | CNN
Troubled woman. Been fighting her own demons for decades. Probably lucky she has not killed anyone or even herself.
Just last night middle son was rear ended by a speeder. The lady in the car ahead of him stopped to make a left turn he stopped behind her and the car behind him locked up his breaks and plowed into him so hard it drove him into the lady stopped ahead of him. Luckly there were witnesses because the guy that hit him tried to claim my son hit the lady in front of him before he crashed into my son. The two witnesses backed up my sons story that he was fully stopped a car length behind when he was driven into the lady ahead of him.
I read that she had been drinking - and had a fight with her boyfriend...... People talk about guns being a problem. You know what the problem is? People doing stupid stuff......
I hate people. My car got totaled two weeks ago when the other driver turned left into me in an intersection. She told police she didn’t see me. Then she tells her insurance I was speeding. So now her insurance is contesting liability. I wasn’t but I’d love to know how she simultaneously didn’t see me but saw me to know I was speeding.
The last time I got rear-ended was years ago on University Ave in Gainesville. The kid who rear-ended me asked me if I was okay. l said yes but my neck was hurting a little from the whiplash. And he said, "Oh, you're going to see how much money you can get out of this, eh?" Some paramedics showed up and took my blood pressure. I wonder why they found it to be dangerously high.
