Sinema is apparently on board, so it looks like it will pass.

This bill will crush small business

Why IRS' $80B expansion is a 'nightmare' for small business

The government takes too much already. They need to scale back not go after more.

Terrible viewpoint. If you’re paying your taxes and your competitor is cheating then you are at a disadvantage. This makes the business world better not worse.

People that aren't business owners don't have a clue about how free wheeling some business owners are with their "business expenses".

Please tell me why you are a proponent of large corporations paying zero income tax while the small business are forced to do the opposite?

It is a political trick to put stuff like this (more IRS agents) in spending bills. Why don't they do that already? We currently have the laws on the books, enforce them. You see that with Medicare, oh we are going after fraud and abuse with this new spending bill, see it gains us XXX billions. What do you have to spend more to go after fraud and abuse?

Do you not think that the IRS doesn't examine the tax returns of these corporations already? Those corporations are using deductions and credits written into the current tax code.

I'm against any tax enforcement. The government takes enough already. They need less of our money not more.

The government is obese and needs to be put on a diet.

Our system runs on political "tricks" they are using budget reconciliation just to have a normal majority vote like a functional democracy lol.

The people who think "defund the police" is stupid and dangerous don't want to collect taxes and put the government on a massive diet, someone make it make sense

The IRS has supposedly been “short staffed” for years, in terms of its law enforcement and audit capability. Hiring more agents (I.e funding the police) actually has a positive ROI in the current environment where the agency is actually incapable of enforcing the laws on the books.

As someone above said, it’s basically the opposite of “defunding the police”. It’s like addressing any other crime wave. If there’s a rash of burglaries in an area you want more resources out there to enforce the law, not “but the laws against burglary are already on the books!”

Please provide us with examples of large corporations paying zero income tax? And not just headlines from some liberal rag that doesn’t provide context. If a corporation doesn’t pay income tax it usually boils down to two things; they either lost money that year, or they made large investment in something that the USG is encouraging with large tax credits.

Local tax to support police, fire and sanitation I do not have a problem with as long as they are reasonable. Federal taxes to support bloated agencies and agendas( both parties) is theft.

I agree with everything you said but if they are short staffed then hire the people to fill spots that are already approved. All you do is put the "increases in revenue" from hiring more people in this bill to reduce the true cost of the bill to begin with.

Rather than hiring more agents, simplify the tax code so the current number can do the job or even be reduced.

Let’s just save ourselves the frustration of arguing and go straight to the point. This is going to cost taxpayers and increase debt and inflation.

I truly wouldn’t trust Schumer to balance my 1 year old grandson’s savings account. I certainly don’t trust any of his estimates or projections. Sadly for US citizens, this will be another bad idea in Schumers career of bad ideas.

I don’t buy the “short staffed” bullshit. They’ve been peddling that crap for decades. If I did buy it, I would certainly agree with your recommendation.

If you consider Amazon's Annual Reports and SEC filings to be liberal rags then I don't know what to tell you
