reminds me of a meme I saw that had a pic of Cruz and a pic of a jellyfish. Caption read "a poisonous animal that shits out of its mouth and a jellyfish".

while I can agree with this in general, the MAGA contingent in the pub party takes self serving narcissism to a whole different level and the rest of the party are allowing them to do so and supporting them in their destructive fallacies

The expected turds, other than Romney, Toomey, and maybe Shelby who I would expect to vote YEA for any military spending (defense contractor payday) bill no matter how large. So it’s interesting they still voted NO on veterans healthcare even after all the blowback.

I wonder what their reasoning is. It is a very large number even over 10 years, so I could respect an honest fiscal conservative argument that the overall $$$ was too large of an increase to the VA budget or that perhaps the benefits of the payouts to the families might be too generous in some cases (or open to the type of frauds that disability type programs attract). The affected military members would disagree, and the politics of going against afflicted cancer sufferers (who will always be put front and center to prove a point) makes it almost impossible politics. But those are the legit concerns, unfortunately if there was to be legitimate fiscal conservative opposition it wasn’t raised at all, instead the talking points used this week were lies: “tHe dEmOcRaTs SnUcK iN UnReLaTEd sPenDiNg”. That was a straight up lie, yet you see parrots all over the place (including here) repeating that lie.

MAGA crew was getting lit up from veteran groups left, right and center so they had to cave.

I was wondering about the reason for Rand Paul’s no vote considering Kentucky has two major military bases, Ft. Knox and Ft. Campbell.
