what is amazing though is that he was the only one killed. they studied his movements as well as the structure of the building he was in and identified time he spent on the balcony and waited until he was on the balcony with nobody in the adjoining room. Kind of surprised they didn't get a sniper in there and take him out with a rifle instead of a drone

yes, That Iranian general was the planner, financer, and weapons supplier to militias killing american soldiers. He wasn't just leading Iranian troops. He injected himself into the battlefield

Well if we're the "big bully of the world", why do you live here? You are forever pointing out all our issues, while seemingly never talking to the many good things about the US. No country is perfect, and no country ever will be. Even though we have faults, I look at us as the only thing keeping the rest of the world from going to hell by the likes of China, Russia and these global terrorists. If we're so damn awful, then go live in some other country that you don't consider a rogue nation.

Who made that determination, a court? An international tribunal? LOL no. Like I said, the president is judge, jury and executioner, and the answer is always "well he could harm Americans." Just say those magic words, and you can kill anyone you want.

Get a life man, this is all you people have whenever someone points out America does whatever if feels like in the world, unmoored from principle or law. I dont demand perfection, but going around assassinating people seems pretty far from "perfect" to me, and doesnt do much to separate us from the "terrorists" or Russias of the world, another country known for killing people its leader finds problematic anywhere in the world.

If he was extradited or voluntarily surrendered he would have had a fair trial. Given that neither would have ever happened the alternative was letting him off for numerous mass murders which implicitly you appear to support.

Sure, but why do the hard and difficult thing of recognizing a government that you lost a war to in order to make that possible where concessions might have to be made, where you might take a political hit, when you can just murder someone with a drone!

we could have recognized them, opened an embassy, and gave them aid and they would not have extradited him. You are living in an alternate reality if you think the Taliban was ever going to hand him over.

Well we wont know if any of that is true, but I guess expediency trumps principles when there is no one on earth to hold you accountable. We can always say the 'bad guys' are worse right or dont have the same values we routinely make a mockery of in the name of security?

it's been a decade. that isn't expedient in my view. if he wanted trial there was plenty of time to present himself

Good lord man, maybe we should kill any criminal who doesn't turn themselves in for a trial too. What nonsense.

LOL! Apparently you don’t get sarcasm, do you? But seriously, you have to know Trump would be bragging about his awesome, most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen attack killing Al Zawahiri.

Why not? You can always invent a reason why you need to kill someone instead of arrest/detain them, the cops are pretty good at it as it stands. That is the reality already. Its amazing what you can get away with with no accountability and people told to be afraid.
