The real reason Americans are so damn angry all the time

    This is the conclusion:

"The Fox pipeline is pretty simple. Fox News stokes a constant sense of outrage among its base of viewers, largely by highlighting narratives of white resentment and threats to Christianity. This in turn forces Republican politicians to follow suit. It’s a positive feedback loop that has no obvious braking system, and it’s already radicalized the conservative base so much that most Republicans literally believe that elections are being stolen and democracy is all but dead if they don’t take extreme action.

"I understand that this is not an exciting conclusion. Liberals have been fighting Fox News for years with little to show for it. It’s more interesting to go after something new, like social media or lunatic conspiracy theories. But the evidence is pretty clear: Those things act as fuel on the fire—and they deserve our opposition—but it’s Fox News that’s set the country ablaze.

"For the past 20 years the fight between liberals and conservatives has been razor close, with neither side making more than minor and temporary progress in what’s been essentially trench warfare. We can only break free of this by staying clear-eyed about what really sustains this war. It is Fox News that has torched the American political system over the past two decades, and it is Fox News that we have to continue to fight."

Im no fan of Fauxnews or any network, but blaming one network for why Americans are angry all the time is downright dumb. The left has more than one network to spread their lies for votes, so i guess it makes it a little more watered down. The end result is anything red is racist, white and fascist and if your a dem you are a baby killer and a communist/Marxist. Blaming the other side is only stoking the general population for power and votes by division. Hint... they dont give a shit about you, just your $ and vote.

Talking with regular folks, regardless if they watch Fox or Cnn/ABC, there isnt much difference.

Do you watch all the networks?

Have you seen any major figure on one them claim that the Republican Party is "openly and very aggressively anti-black?"

Tucker Carlson tells dangerous lie that the Democratic Party is “openly and very aggressively anti-white”

Has there been a CNN equivalent to Fox's claims about the War on Christmas, War on Easter, etc ...?

I live this first hand through a family divided by politics and viewership.

Any opinion I don't share in FULL support or against a particular subject earns me accusations of supporting "the other side" regardless of right or left. There is no middle ground anymore. I've gotten into more arguments with my family about refusing to watching Fox or MSNBC than any actual political or social issues themselves.

I tend to think this is a pretty accurate chart in terms of bias and the usage of facts versus commentary.

Static Media Bias Chart - Ad Fontes Media

It is formed by getting a balanced panel (one left-leaning person, one right-leaning person, one centrist) to judge the bias and factual basis of individual articles/videos. Standard Fox News TV is the reflection of the most biased individual commentary show on MSNBC (The Reid Out). Fox's most biased shows have no major media comparisons (the sources that are reflections of Hannity or Tucker Carlson are not major sources).

The problem would be worse if you weighted outlets by audience size. The garbage sources for the left are generally less well viewed (to the point that I have only even heard of a couple of them), while they are highly consumed on the right.

Both sides might be a comforting story, but it isn't really an accurate one.

Who cares what they say. Its all propaganda. As far as severity of the propaganda, who cares if your audience votes for you, you win... Keep in mind these people switch sides all the time and are part of the system. Tucker was CNN for years. His job is to brainwash for his employer, thats it. People are using emotions to sway for power and $. I choose not to play.

Same here, I have gotten to the point of calling them out for being brainwashed for toeing the line. Enough with the extremes on the right or left. Im so tired of it.

There is nothing on mainstream cable anywhere else as toxic and dangerous as Fox News' primetime programming.

Trying to claim all media is the same is both wrong and a copout. Eliminates any thought or judgement. Same as claiming all politicians are the same, all police, all Democrats, all Republicans, all whites, all blacks ....

So four years ago, there was a discussion about a handful of GOP candidates who stood for some pretty outrageous stuff. The two I looked up were not anti-black. They were directed at Jews. Holocaust was a fake. Wouldn't be great if Jews killed lots of other Jews ...
    that kind of stuff.

That's a far cry from your claim that every single day, CNN says the GOP is aggressively anti-black, isn't it?

All the media is the same. They are for profit to keep viewers. There is no thought, only the illusion of thought to keep you engaged. No one does anything without being paid somehow.

And most people claim to be Pubs or Dems. Unless you are a card carrying paying your dues member, you are part of the herd that needs to be placed in a bucket for votes. There is no more thought or discussion. The elite is going to tell you what they want you to do. Period.

    Orlando.... Again
Since I was flaming CNN for the same thing last week, I'll be an equal opportunity flamer.

The American media is broken. It should not tell you what you want to hear. I would point to a definition as the cause.

Journalism n:the activity or profession of writing for newspapers, magazines, or news websites or preparing news to be broadcast.

^ This definition is broken. It describes setting up the rings for the circus.

What is the word that defines someone who reports on facts? As far as I know, there is no longer a word that defines this, because it doesn't happen.

You are right, at least in part. People who work for a living do expect to get paid.
As far as a secret cabal of elite running everything, telling us all what to do ... maybe they are telling you. Not me.

Not sure how to take that.

    I will just say this...

I dont watch it, I dont pay for cable or TV in general or click on their sites for ad money. The only thing i pay for is the occasional CFB game and Amazon Prime.

I quit voting D or R a long time ago. So if their goal is to get me to not give them votes or $, they are doing a hell of a job. The folks that vote D or R need to re-access what they are voting for. And before someone says it, no I dont think there is some shadow gov that is running behind the scenes or some conspiracy theory BS. I just think human beings are easily malleable to propaganda for $ and votes (And even worse things as well...) and those in power study and use it.

You want to believe fox and cnn aren’t the same. It just warms my heart.
All you can do is post your opinion or somebody else’s opinion. But you’re wrong thinking fox is more toxic than the left wing propaganda shows. It is pretty much all the same.
