You can have a false negative test with the antigen test. False positives are rare with them.

Maybe he had a false negative? I tested positive for 18 days.

Fauci, and possibly Biden, took a second five day dose of paxlovid during his rebound. Paxlovid rebound is maybe 1% of all taking the anti-viral. Is it possible those 1%ers would not have rebounded if they took a 7-8 day dose vs the five day, 30 pill dose pack? or just redose the 1%? Fauci said his 2nd Covid infection presented worse symptoms than the first.

My theory is Paxlovid should be taken for at least 7 days and not 5

What ever happened to Regeneron? Does it no longer work on Covid-19?

I know of 6 Couples in my immediate neighborhood who were infected with Covid since the beginning of June. Of those 12 people, 4 took Paxlovid - of those 4 3 had rebound. I also know those 3 did not report the rebound to anyone. I don't believe the 1% is accurate because most with rebound (usually lasts 3 or 4 days) just go on with their lives. Maybe this is an extreme coincidence, but i believe rebound is very common.

It stopped being effective, despite DeSantis still pushing it, once Omicron became the most wide spread variant.

Ritanovir can greatly impede the functioning of the kidneys. Considering the target audience for Paxlovid, it is going to require a lot of study to ensure the benefit outweighs the risk. The co-morbidities that are called out in the EUA (recall, Paxlovid should not be given to healthy adults) also likely result in decreased kidney function.

Finally, no where in the EUA does it permit 2 courses of Paxlovid. It is ridiculous that Fauci was treated with it twice

We do not have an Omicron specific anti-virus drug.

Also, S African data still leaves many scratching their head. Not that it is wrong, just difficult to understand. For example, SAfrica js a fairly young population. In the US, Omicron killed more elderly and pediatric patients than did delta.

In the US right now we have about 2000 people per week dying. That is a 9/11 event every week. Omicron is plenty deadly unfortunately.

I thought the Delta variant was the most deadly strain, but maybe the different variants effect different age groups, some are more deadly than others depending on your age and the specific variant.

The original strain was the most deadly because we knew so little and has so few tools. Delta would have been more deadly if it had been first. But it was more deadly than Omicron. The current variant has such a high RO rate that it is casing and increase in deaths simple because of the number of infections.
