Just to be clear on the disingenuous nature of these threads... do you refer to the shade thrown on Biden because of gas prices increasing, or the shade thrown on Biden because the prices are falling. Nothing duplicitous there?

I'll repost this for you because the economy relies on good energy policy.
Our administration has gone out of their way to eliminate fossil fuels. To date, Biden is the only president in modern history not to have held a single oil and gas lease sale on federal lands despite clear direction from Congress to do so quarterly. Offshore, the Biden administration has not completed a single lease sale. Investors are hesitant to put money in the industry. Janet Yellen is asking banks to defund fossil fuel projects. Yellen may be dumber than Biden.

What happens in 5 years if we have abandoned exploration, have not built infrastructure and scared away anyone willing to back the industry? We all know wind and solar are a nice addition but cannot support the need. The administration has admitted that high gas prices are part of the process. If we are not exploring and not building infrastructure what will prices look like in the future. How many years of oil do we have left in the Permian Basin?

No one is threatening you, asking or ordering you to leave the forum. And I don't moderate this forum. For which I am grateful as it is a supreme headache and that gives me a bit more latitude in stating my objections to your deliberate insulting antagonism. You're not the only one who instigates ill will; there are many others on both sides who do the same. But you came in here guns blazing and made a bad situation worse.

Summary I got from it : Strategic reserve is a heavy sour crude. Almost all of it is import. Not the best oil to make gas with. Best way to lower US prices is export oil. We are refining at maximum capacity. More oil here doesn’t help. But more oil available worldwide lowers price.

Do you really think it will get better by chastising one side? I am not new to Gator Country. I was here years before the 2007 conversion. I'm not a newbie to political boards, only new here. I'm only here because a site I was participating on decided to censor posts and conversations. That is something I will not tolerate.

I cannot do less than I'm doing. I have strong political views and I intend to state them whether they are liked or not. I've witnessed the most pathetic performance by a president in modern history and likely all history. My views pointing that out and usually supported with links will not stop.

I offered a real conversation with Dan even after he went out of his way to insult me. His response, "I'm not wasting my time reading that," meaning I put together my thoughts along with supporting links and he on a basic level gave me a middle finger salute. I can't and won't be responsible for people like him and others like him.

I won't stay here this much as my wife would kill be. It was just a new toy to get used to. When I am here, I'll be posting new links and have my guns blazing responding to posts while doing my best to not insult any person or group. That's all I can do.

All I ask of you is that you not attack me and that you treat me just like you do everybody else. I didn't appreciate you singling me out immediately after I was the one being attacked/insulted.

I hope we can all get along, not an easy thing to do when politics are involved. If not, that bad situation you spoke of which predates me participating on this board is only going to get worse with upcoming important news and the midterm elections.

Oh please, spare me your victimhood. You came here and immediately started browbeating everyone and now you're crying because someone pushed back. If I wanted to read the kind of stuff you post I'd go to straight to the source -- gateway pundit or breitbart or any number of right-wing websites. That's where your info comes from anyway. Same misinformation, same extreme bias.

Well, the Dallas fed disagrees with your assessment on global oil production. They state that the Russian sanctions decreased global supply by about 3 million barrels of oil per day. So what evidence do you have that this is wrong?

The mod you are replying to is a conservative. You have contributed little more than snark and shit to the board. She is trying to help you learn your place.

Thank you for the courteous response. I too hope we - all of us- can 'get along,' as that is my fervent desire for those who post on this aggravating forum as it is sadly lacking in civility.

Earlier this evening I posted something in a PM to another person who is a Too Hot regular. What I wrote in the PM has relevance to our exchange so with a few necessary and pertinent changes I will copy what I wrote to this person, who btw, happens to be a liberal.*

    ************************

___________ , thank you for your kind and thoughtful response. And please forgive my delay in replying to you. I do see how you are making the effort to tone down your responses to those with whom you clash on the forums. I know it isn't easy to restrain one's self when disagreeing with an irritating antagonist. I failed in that regard with ETGator01 earlier today.

I think at least part of the reason I publicly posted my objection and dislike of his insulting and irritating posting - as I also did with you - is probably projection. I understand the reasons people have or use to justify their insults. Regrettably I know I have posted like that from time to time, and though I don't like falling into that trap, did so once again in my back and forth with him.

The regular contributors to this maddening forum are a diverse lot. Some are unimaginably ignorant and stubborn and others are astute and knowledgeable. Some are open and willing to read (listen), and learn some things worth knowing, others are cocksure they already know everything worth knowing. I wonder what motivates them (me) any of us, to post - or spend any time at all - on this infuriating forum. What is to be gained from this seemingly futile exercise?
~ Questions I have asked of myself. The answers from this sort of self examination could potentially make one uncomfortable.~

I know that I've learned a great deal worth knowing from the knowledgeable set, but I've also learned a good deal about human nature from the rude, antagonistic and insulting posts made by the intemperate who spoil many a good thread. Many - most? - are angry, frustrated and losing their objectivity use the threads to lash out, perhaps with the intention of punishing their political opposites. Few have realized or learned - or have forgotten (including me today)- their reasons for doing this.

This forum could be so much better. It could be a place where we could intelligently dialogue with civility, possibly learning something worth knowing, sharing our concerns, exchanging ideas or possible solutions along to others. Probably a pipe dream, but things that could hopefully - possibly - improve the dire situation our country is enmeshed. Like the old bumper sticker slogan read: Think globally - act locally. If we as a nation of citizens cannot learn to treat one another with respect and civility starting at the level of our Gator Country political forum - we are most definitely doomed, as I fear.

Obviously anecdotal. Paid $3.93 a gallon for regular at a local Shell station this morning. Two weeks ago it was $4.69 at the same station and $5.09 back in mid-June.

Reiterating what I said in previous posts, while the president actually has little impact on gas prices, if Joe Biden is to be blamed for rising gas prices he deserves credit for falling gas prices. He either is responsible for the price of gas at the pump or he isn't. Rationally, cannot have it both ways.

False. Some of the links are directly from the White House. It helps to actually have an open mind which apparently you have a problem with. If you have better links than I provided, man up and provide. Add the law you wanted to introduce to boot. I'm here waiting on you, not that I will be holding my breath.

Of course, it's a thing with some people to want to censor and ban others. Ask, not that I will comply, and fully put yourself in that group of people, your choice.
