A wall in places is a good thing, trying to build a wall the entire length is a fools Foley.

Make it your central slogan, smdh. Most drugs are driven across the border, what are the stats for illegal immigrants?

What was the phrase from that iconic 80’s movie? Ymmv

Axios, Breitbart, Red States, Townhall, Fox Business and not Fox News, TYT to keep up with our socialist/communists, and an assortment of articles and reports from various sources when they aren't censored by leftist fanatics. I trust no Fake News source which means I'm on the fence with Axios which is left leaning. Close, but no cigars.

You are obvious even though you said little. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, Politico, New York Slimes, TYT, and any site that produces democratic socialist propaganda or left-wing articles.

That is what I had guessed, but would like to know more.

I spent 8 years in AZ and worked with Catholic Relief services who, among other things, put water out in the desert for people crossing. The southern border was interesting and many of the residents did everything that they could to help those fleeing Mexico until the numbers started climbing. Farmers started finding more and more trash in their fields, human waste everywhere, etc....Crime along the border also started to increase, especially murder as farmers would try to confront human smugglers to keep them off of their land. That deterioration of the situation led to the Patriot movement taking hold down there, which I will point out, did not start as an anti-immigration movement, it was anti-human trafficking and in the early days helped free some of the people being smuggled. It was only later when the hate mongers and race baiters from outside came in did it take a darker turn.

Anyway, the Federal Government, after 9/11, was able to use the free flow of anti-terrorism money to improve technology all along the border including motion sensors, IR cameras and yes, Predator drones. DEA and FBI chipped in as well to minimize the amount of drugs flowing as well.

The labor is desperately needed from California to North Carolina to Michigan to Washington to ensure crops are harvested and make it to the dinner tables of all of these right wing nut-jobs, so I have never understood the hate? One BIG piece of current food inflation that never gets talked about is how many farmers lost almost everything in 2020 due to COVID restrictions blocking migrant workers and each subsequent year they have had to raise prices to try and recoup some of that loss.

Biden is still being forced by Republican "judges" to enforce most of Trump's border policies. So if Biden's border policies are a disaster, that should speak volumes about how ineffective "conservative" border policy is.

It's hilarious how the "wall" has shifted from an actual wall over the entire border to building isolated bits of fencing, something that every Democratic president since Reagan has done. I guess Obama built "the wall."

I'll be clear here. The wall was a stupid idea offered by a person who had a child's understanding of the border and border policy. It remains a stupid idea.

Shocker, you know very little about border policy. Title 42 and Remain in Mexico are separate policies. The Supreme Court did not rule on Title 42 yet. They did rule on Remain in Mexico. But with Title 42 in place, Remain in Mexico has mostly been irrelevant for the past couple of years. And even when it was used, it was only used sparingly. Feel free to consult this chart (MPP = Remain in Mexico):

I hope the Supreme Court does the right thing on Title 42. It's a destructive policy that has only made things worse at the border.

Kamala already visited the border. How much time have you spent at the border?
In first trip to U.S.-Mexico border as vice president, Kamala Harris focuses on causes of immigration

Republican "judges" blocked Biden's "restrictions." They've prevented almost every attempt he has made at changing Trump's border policies. That's what so hilarious about Trumpers complaining about the border. These are Trump's policies failing. But hey, at least y'all can continue ignorantly barking about a wall.

He's not. He's building fencing at certain strategic points, just like Obama and Clinton did.

Walls in places where there are major border crossings makes sense. These areas are in populated areas, and the walls can help funnel people and vehicles through checkpoints. Yuma is such an area, with a population of around 200,000. Mostly agricultural (lettuce being the top crop), with a military base. Yuma is also halfway between San Diego and both Phoenix and Tucson.

But walls outside the Yuma area makes absolutely no sense. Trump's wall has already been breached more than 3000 times. People have been using $5 ladders to climb the wall as well. The wall didn't fare well either against summer monsoon storms. In the end, the wall outside metro areas is a billion dollar boondoggle that doesn't stop anyone from coming in, and barely slows them down. What kind of ROI is there when you spend billions and the wall is 99% ineffective? Yet, the wall seems to be the key component for many Republicans. Guess they enjoy wasting taxpayer money?

Biden said "not one more foot of Trumps wall." He's a man of his word, he's building Biden's wall.

Yes, as I've said many, many times, you get the same draconian, racist border policies no matter who you vote for. If you hate Biden's border policy, then you hate Trump's. And vice versa.

The thoughts crossed my mind. Problem is, I'd have to run as an independent. And that doesn't seem fun.

At the lowest levels, you don't get much support from a party anyways so its pretty DIY no matter what. So, it helps to have your own money, a job you can ignore and friends that can help for free, not to mention a broad network of people you know. The worst part is fundraising, but you'd be surprised how much money you can raise just having a party with free booze and food and asking people to pony up. But a lot of the paperwork and filings for fundraising are a drag. Canvasing in Florida heat sucks ass too. I helped a friend run once, and it was a good experience, but he ended up dropping out when bigger name candidates jumped in.

but why, his own people say the border is secure, why waste time and money on a secure area?

One expectation is that Trump supporters would be happy to have Biden complete Trump’s project, but clearly this is naive. Instead, he gets mocked regardless of whether he chooses more or less wall. In this way, it seems like the power of the argument should be greatly diminished.

I was thinking of hitting up Yang for a few bucks and running under his new Forward Party. That surr beats canvassing in the heat.

But yeah, if I'm ever not running the day to day of my business, I may look into it.
