I think Yang would make a good VP candidate if they can find someone named Yin for the top spot.

It will only serve to split voters who may ordinarily vote for a D. The R's will vote for whomever is their nominee, including the orange guy. Baked in.

Yang is super progressive on most stuff. He's also super libertarian on a lot of things. But I think the whole point of this new party is bi-partisan. It has a lot of former prominent GOPers involved too.

This is like the bench players for the Lions and Jags leaving to start a new team.

I really like the idea but it is almost doomed to fail, and most likely puts a MAGA style Republican in the White House. It is going to appeal primarily to upper middle class moderates who are going to lean Democrat, and if they are lucky enough to win a few states and nobody wins an electoral college victory, then it goes to the House, and each state gets one vote, which again guarantees a Republican victory.

George Washington warned us about the dangers of political parties. I don't think creating a third major party would address the core problems associated with partisan loyalty, the spirit of revenge, etc. I think I'd rather people just work to grow the NPA numbers and start funding independents from the bottom up. I've thought about registering NPA so I guess I'm a bit of a hypocrite on my part.

A third party isn't the way forward. Some form of ranked choice voting is what will reign in the extremists.

The only way to build a third party is from the local level on up. And it will take millions to do so and at least 20-30 years to be viable. Just rolling a candy for POTUS every four years won’t cut it.
