There’s are rules put in place regarding nil. Following those rules imo is an attempt to do it the right way.

I see that some ppl can't understand actual facts....regardless of the whys and wherefores of how they came to be.

Perhaps not, but the facts as he laid them out still stand.

I don't think he made any false claim as of the current date...all of his facts are correct including the "same old same old" as of this date (UF recruiting rankings are no better than the last several years at the current time). Hopefully there is an uptick between now and signing day, but every prospect that goes a different direction (and doesn't flip back) between now and then removes a potential possibility of upgrading our class.

This would be all well and good and desirable to most folks...I mean what a heck of a great example Alabama has set for us in the last 15 years by doing everything within the rules.

It's not about being Stanford. It's about living up to the ethical standards that made people like Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerffel, Ray Graves and many, many others the true standard bearers of UF FB. To engage in the unsustainable, nefarious BS that's currently going down would be an afront to their collective legacy and, respectfully, you can count me out. Now if the "rules" and state law change to permit an "anything goes" free for all, then have at it. I'll still be a Gator 'til the day I die. But my "devotion" to the game that I have loved for going on six decades will be sharply and permanently diminished. No offense to the "go for it" faction, but that's just who I am and how I roll. Peace, out.

Yes, it’s a great plan to let our program depend on others honesty

For the folks who consider an adherence to decency, sustainability and the rule of law a sign of optimism, you are entirely, 100% correct. I do try to adhere to some "old-fashioned" ideas about the value of scruples and fair play. If that makes me "wrong" for the times, I don't give two hoots in hell about being "right."

With the facts as he laid them, most schools don’t sign their “high priority” recruits. How often do we sign the #1 OL recruit in the nation? We took a shot at him. That’s not a negative. The other 2 have both been talked widely about how they signed with Miami because of upfront money. Is it a positive or negative that we aren’t outrageously ignoring the rules?

but yes, the facts as he laid them out still stand

defined as Miami going 9-3 with a bowl win for the next couple of years. The incoming players will be paid(NIL) and heading to the NFL in some form. Maybe a couple first rd picks the majority day 3 but still drafted.

MC won the PAC twice. He can do it in the ACC. Clemson is down and no one else has taken the lead yet.

im willing to bet there will be significant uptick in recruiting very very very soon. I’d also bet that folks will still be upset we aren’t buying players outright

It’s hard to accept that the powers that be don’t simply want a football powerhouse. They want an all around University. You aren’t gonna get far fighting it.

The only real difference is some schools are giving kids money up front, and Florida isn’t. They are telling them what they could potentially make in NIL. That’s the rule. Florida is going to always go by rules. You might as well wrap your head around that fact. It will made your life a lot happier and easier

But is it the same? At this rate we are on pace to ave one of the biggest blue-chip(4&5*) ratios on record. Currently we have 12 commits 10 4* and only two 3*. That's a 83% blue chip ratio. I looked back on the last 10 + recruiting classes dating back to the vaunted 2010 class and the lowest amount of 3* we signed was double what we currently have. That shows me that the evaluations the staff has is working as our commits have risen in ranks. They are also being selective evident by us only having 2 commits less than 4*'s. It doesn't look like there are anything but 4 and 5*'s in our sights the further we get into this cycle.

And I'm not saying that I don't accept it and agree with it...but I bet, like me, you get tired of UF trying to compete with one hand tied behind our back.

We can pretend we only lose these battles because of money until we proves it was only for the money. Agreed?
