You have to put that into perspective. If Muhammed Ali had to fight Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, and Mike Tyson to get into a title fight against Larry Holmes who had to fight Chuck Wepner, Ernie Shavers, and Ken Norton, I would wager that Ali would be worst for wear in the title fight even though he was more talented. A more talented team that is banged up and worn down because of the competition they play can easily lose to a team that plays no one all year and remains relatively unscathed in the process.

Great analogy. At least play-off teams get 3-4 weeks of rest and rehab before they start playing again.

But wait a minute, don't everyone crown Nick Saban as the GOAT and tout Bama's depth? Can't have that banged up excuse when you got a 3 deep of 4 and 5 star players man. Clemson got the talent to come to the SEC and be just as productive as they've been in the ACC. Give them the SEC exposure (something that isn't as dominant as it once was) and SEC money along with the prestige they got now, and there's no way they become Mississippi State. They played the most competitive game UGA had last year (outside of Bama) to start the season.

Well, at least he now is open to more visits after earlier shutting it down. My made up sources says a visit to UF is now imminent.

For those saying Miami doesn't have a chance my point is look at Clemson. They came out of nowhere, started having great recruiting classes, won a couple of semi a tough games each year, and won two national championships. Miami can simply follow the same model. With CFP it will be harder, but at least they would have chance.

In the SEC even your 2 deep and 3 deep talent gets banged up. That is the difference. When Alabama and Georgia recruit so many 5 star players to their program they do so knowing that it is likely, that by the time they get through the SEC schedule, the day one starter and his back up might be injured on the bench or limited in snaps. Even if they are playing, but are all dinged up, they are not the same players that they were at the start of the season.

Clemson on the other hand, is resting it starters by halftime for 3- 4 of its games. They do not have the depth at positions like Alabama and Georgia. Georgia's classes in the past 5 years are 2 number 1s, a 2, a 3, and a 4 in the national rankings. Clemson can't touch that. And Alabama's is not much far off from Georgia's. Then take under consideration that those top classes are playing against other classes that are in top 25. In 2021 the SEC had 6 teams in the top 20 in class rankings in recruiting. The ACC had 3. 4 of those teams the SEC had were in the top 10- 3 were in the top 5.

Clemson and all other teams in the ACC would wilt, if they continued to recruit as they do in the ACC as an SEC team.

What would happen, is because they would become an SEC team, their recruiting would get a major boost.

I have not even factored into the equation the de facto programs of Oklahoma and Texas which are now getting the bump in recruiting because of their decision to join the conference. If you factor them in in 2021 (the announcement was made long before the rankings), you now have 5 in the top 10 from the SEC and 7 out of the 15.

Anything can happen on a given day, but there is a reason why 14 out of the last 20 national championships have come from the SEC or a school that is about to join the SEC. 5 times in the last 20 years, the two teams that faced off in the championship game were from the SEC or a team joining the SEC. NOT ONCE has the ACC had two teams face off for a national championship in football. That says it all. Getting the ACC championship game and winning is probably less beneficial than getting to the SEC championship game and losing.

The Osceola trio are all committing this evening. We're most likely going 1/3 there (Jackson).

Give 2020 Clemson the 2020 UF schedule and I bet they'd go undefeated until they played Bama. Talent is talent is talent no matter what conference you play in.

So let me ask you this, your only saying that Clemson has played Bama tough when they've met 4 times in the playoffs, is ONLY because Bama is dinged up?

You're not wrong except clemson did a more even keel approach to recruiting under Dabo avg. Just outside the top 10 for years dipping inside every so often But they had success off of that foundation. And continue too. So their are a couple different ways to do it. Surprisingly their New AD was Clemson old one and he certainly is going about it in a much more flashier way this time around.

They've been as success as their QB play. When they've gotten great QB play since Boyd was their QB, they've been elite. The few years they struggled were when Watson was a TF, Kelly Bryant season(s), and last year. I wonder how long a leash DJ has this season. Their DL should be NASTY again this year

What about the first game of the year to Minnesota? The Minn RB ran through that D until his injury. MN was putting it to them.
