Federal government spent about a trillion dollars less in the first 6 months of 2022 than it did in the first 6 months of 2021. That's a big difference. I'd take any GDP growth fluctuations right now, whether positive or negative, with a grain of salt.

For those of you hoping we're already in a recession, some bad news. Ford posted a huge earnings win today, at 68 cents per share, beating expectations of 44 cents per share. Just one small datapoint, but auto companies typically don't do too well during recessions.

GDP gets released at 8:30. Let me lead you in your daily prayer ... bow your head.

Dear Lord Jesus above in the sky, please bless us good patriot Americans with negative GDP so we can prove our devotion to a strong America and celebrate a technical recession, and so my premature meming won't make me look like this meme...

    ... Amen.

Nobody wants a recession. But nobody wants a bunch of libbies pretending everything is just fine either.

Decrease by 0.9%. Not as bad as expected so that’s good. But it’s a recession.

Not at all, Jesus always pulls through when you pray hard enough.

Democrats arguing about the definition of a recession reminds me of the Republicans arguing about the unemployment numbers during the Obama admin. If you don't like the numbers, change the definition.

I want a recession. Tired of trying to run a business and stay ahead of inflation. Time to give demand a timeout so that supply can catch up.

The economy is MUCH MUCH better than right wing partisans are hoping and giving it credit for...Funny... just like under Obama. We have some pull back from consumers that will affect the HISTORIC profit taking companies did post covid. It will bite some of them in the ass. At the end of the day the economy is in solid shape. Productivity is rising, supply and inventories are rising, prices are moderating and falling in many commodity markets, unemployment is historically low, low end wages are historically high, real inflation adjusted earnings for the bottom earners are up, and the dollar is very strong. Energy inflation is the single thread that is impacting us negatively and that is related to the output cutback from OPEC. Not much we can do on that last one but put pressure and hope the prices cause OPEC to break apart in a chase for the almighty dollar.

I can’t wait for your party to get exactly what they deserve. All Democrats care about is BS gender and racial studies. They don’t care about actual people.

Janet Yellen gave a good talk today, and Wall Street certainly isn't behaving as if the economy were about to tank.
