Wait . . . . we can still express willful ignorance, claiming wild conspiracy supported by Youtube "science!"

Could you please give me the names and resumes of those CNN contributors who are the equivalent (on the alternate side of the aisle) to Juan Williams and Bob Beckel? If you don't know they are, you can use Google. They are "leftie friendly". At least Fox attempts to give the other side a real voice...and paycheck.

BTW, I don't watch Fox. Righteous humor to make you feel better about your choices is not a very good look for you. You are better than that. Are you becoming the Too Hot version of the last-years' George Carlin? He was pretty damn bitter and not very funny.

I don't know what you're trying to do. Are you trying to insinuate that the lefties at CNN made up this story? There are no such studies this week in Science?

Since I don't subscribe to Science (as I used to), I appreciate CNN's article about the studies. And for a link I'm not going to scour the Web for some other source on them in order to please you.

If you have such disdain for CNN, don't watch it. I'll watch what I please to see what's happening during the day. That is, unless CNN has made it up.

Okay, we are talking past one another. I never said...on this thread...that I do not agree with the CNN facts, although I DID do a drive-by shooting regarding our repartee on the "Christian Nationalists" thread.

I am merely responding your equally snarky post that said "Fox, fair and balanced? HAHAHAHA!" My reply to your post (that you responded to) gives you two names that are lefties that have or had prominent positions on Fox (The Five, especially). I requested, somewhat snarkily, for the same flavor but opposite on CNN. Instead, you are obsessing that I called you out on the "Christian" thread to not use CNN or Ms-NBC if I agree to not use Fox or Breitbart. And that deal still stands and was genuine.

If all we do is to throw righteous hand grenades at each other, firmly esconsed in our preferred bunker, then we are doing the work for the powerful who want it that way.

My attempt here is to try to get you to realize that CNN, while a news source, is not sanctified by God, and your derision to claim anything that comes out of Fox's mouth is less-than-factual....EVER! And using humor to make your point is right up there with Carlin at the end of his life. He wasn't funny, he was damn bitter.

You are better than that. Humorous? Sure, bitter and condescending? Please tell me no.

CNN reported on an article in an academic journal. That is factual. Science published the exact article Coco pointed us to. Even if Bolshevik Daily published the news item, it does not change the findings in an article in one of the worlds leading scientific journals. Your argument is without merit in my view.

I can't give you two names because I don't keep up with the commentators on CNN. I watch CNN off and on during the day to see what's happening.

I don't need you to tell me that CNN is not sanctified by God. I have posted before that I'm adult enough to know when any news channel is trying to sell me a load of crap. As for my "derision" of Fox, I consider it a traitorous organization. It was Trump's network, helping him sell his Big Lie, which is why it's being sued for millions of dollars and I hope the plaintiffs collect every cent.

I can get pretty damn bitter about treason, especially when I see this republic possibly going down the drain as a result. I make no apology for being patriotic.

So a market frequented by personnel that work for a notorious viral lab just happened to introduce a perfectly engineered virus to the world. Got it…

Did lab personnel frequent that market? I don't know, but that market sounds like a pretty scroungy place to me.

At this point, over two and half years after this BS was introduced to the world, I am not really that interested in continuing the lab vs market theories. If it was created, or whatever the right term is, in an animal market, my concern/question is, what is China doing to regulate what is sold in these markets? What are they doing to try and prevent this from happening in the future?

No matter where it originated, it still feels as though China isn't really being held accountable for the death and destruction this virus has unleashed on the world.

Very solid point. But beyond the wet market issues, zoonotic spillover increases as humans get closer to previously out of contact wildlife. And though it very likely wasn't a lab this time, that risk remains unless there is worldwide true regulation of gain of function research. Not sure that's possible. But the issue remains

I guess we have established then, that the virus was started in China.

Fauci’s agency admits it funded gain-of-function work in Wuhan: What else are they keeping from us?

It turns out US taxpayer money did go for “gain of function” research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, despite Dr. Anthony Fauci’s heated denials of just that.

Gain-of-function work involves intentionally making a virus more effective against humans. The “lab leak” theory for COVID-19’s origins posits that WIV researchers so engineered a coronavirus, with some accident letting it reach the wider world and kill nearly 5 million worldwide.

Lawrence Tabak, a top National Institutes of Health official, just admitted the ugly truth, while blaming the NIH’s grantee, New York-based EcoHealth Alliance, for failing to report it.

I agree. It would be so comforting to believe what I was just told yesterday and which I've heard before, that the pandemic is a hoax, it's no worse than the flu, millions of people haven't died from Covid, they died from other causes but it was all chalked up to Covid. IOW there's nothing to see here, except a massive worldwide medical conspiracy. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

NIH admits Fauci lied about funding Wuhan gain-of-function experiments

A full two years after Wuhan hosted the 2019 Military World Games, determined by House Foreign Affairs Republicans to be one of the planet's first superspreader events of the novel coronavirus pandemic, a top official at the National Institutes of Health has conceded that contrary to the repeated assertions of Dr. Anthony Fauci, the NIH did indeed fund highly dangerous gain-of-function research on bat-borne coronaviruses in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

In a letter to Kentucky Republican James Comer, the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, Lawrence A. Tabak of the NIH admitted that "out of an abundance of caution," and, of course, after two years of external outrage over the possibility of the lab leak hypothesis, the nation's top medical research agency conducted an additional review of how the funds authorized by Fauci and friends were used by EcoHealth Alliance, the New York City-based nonprofit organization headed by frequent WIV collaborator Peter Daszak.

More on this that Fauci cannot lie about.

Paul has repeatedly accused Fauci of misleading the public about the NIH's grant to EcoHealth Alliance, which in turn distributed nearly $600,000 of that funding to its collaborator, the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). He says that WIV could likely enhanced a pathogen that spilled out and led to the Covid-19 pandemic.

'The preponderance of evidence points toward this coming from a lab and what you have done is change the definition on your website to cover your ass basically. That's what you've done. You've changed the website to try to change the definition so it doesn't include the risky research that is going on,' he said.

One of the grants included $599,000 to go to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to 'identify and alter bat coronaviruses likely to infect humans,' The Intercept said.

'The viruses they constructed were tested for their ability to infect mice that were engineered to display human type receptors on their cell,' Ebright told The Intercept after reviewing the documents.

China isn't exactly thrilled with Covid either. They basically shut down big chunks of the manufacturing sphere with the latest variant (one of the causes of inflation worldwide, in fact, but, obviously, it isn't good for China either). They have lost huge amounts of money on this.

Why would any of the scientists listed as authors on either study be in line for prison time? Or are you saying that we should just lock up all scientists?

Then more reason to regulate their markets and what is being sold.

I would tend to agree. They likely will (quietly, since they don't want to admit fault). But China is less centralized in its governance than a lot of people imagine. There are central edicts and the like, but local officials, as with most authoritarian countries, are particularly adept at operating in a way to enrich themselves by selective enforcement of such edicts.
