Two studies published this week in the journal Science conclude that the coronavirus originated in the Wuhan animal market. Can this be true, or are these scientists just trying to cover up for that no-good Dr. Fauci and his buddies at the Wuhan lab? (Warning: This link is to the CNN website. Conservatives beware or just ignore!) Covid-19 origins: New studies agree that animals sold at Wuhan market are most likely what started pandemic - CNN
I'm not compelled to trust anyone in authority at all. Nor am I saying that I dismiss the possibility of a lab leak. But I respect peer-reviewed articles in the journal Science, which I do not believe participates in world-wide conspiracies or cover-ups. (There are people who believe, for example, that climate change is a scientific community hoax.) The journal Science deals with science, and these are significant studies or Science wouldn't publish them. That is all.
Lol... these "scientists" know their azzes are on the line for prison time if the truth comes out. It's no wonder that they said this lie. That bat virus didn't just suddenly created it's own 'gain-of function' and just mutated into a human virus all by itself.
I will only make one take (and ignore that your source for "news" is CNN). I found myself, for some unknown reason, getting conspiracy theory type recommendations on YouTube. I don't search for these things, on either Google or YT, and yet there they are. Anyways, I began to get recommendations for several doctoral sources (some medical, others research) and all of them are level-headed and believe in science. And over a period of time, they go from "here are the facts" to "that doesn't sound correct" to "what is the CDC (or others) thinking making these statements/policies" to "something doesn't smell right" to "I have now been blasted by the silly folk of being an 'anti-vaxer', even though I have taken them and support their use when appropriate (co-morbidities, advanced age)" and finally "there is definitely something wrong in the medical and medical research hierarchy, this has to be remedied ASAP." If your medical institutions have been choosing lockstep obedience to espouse continued vaccination using old strain variants regardless of the potential adverse effects from those vaccinations (you know, it should be up to your doctor and the particulars of the individual patient and their desires), and in a sane world, investigative reporters would find out the incompetent - at best - efforts by a key component of an advanced society, and you have designs for bigger things, wouldn't hijacking a skeptical, discerning and free press (ie, look where we tell you not to look and we will blackball you in your chosen profession and you will lose your livelihood) be one of the first choices a LONG time ago? Well, right after you decide to build and sanctify a Central Banking system. That is the most important because you need a lot "legitimate funny money" to pay for those niceties.
All I know is Oswald was framed by the same bats that directed the "moon" landing and flew the remote controlled planes on 911. Those little fellas are bat guano crazy man! I dont trust em. As for covid, you decide.
Yeah ... I remember this. Some on this board, early on, were citing "reports" that it had to be designed by scientists because the virus was as contagious as it could possibly be ... haven't heard much about that stupidity since delta and omicron ...
To be "fair and balanced," I would provide a link to a report on FoxNews about these studies, but guess what. There isn't one. I am shocked, shocked.
Well, Herschel Walker said something about we sent some good air over to China, and they sent some bad air back to us.
Alina Chan is still pushing back. On her Twitter feed she said that this does not advance too much their original prior to peer review releases in February. She says they've actually scaled back a bit in their descriptions, although that's a normal part of peer review, so I'm not sure how valid that criticism is. She says that she's got a piece under a peer review now which she thinks will take a different side. Then again, she's heavily invested. I thought she was a great voice at first, mainly for the statement that whether Wuhan lab was a source of elite, these labs were not being sufficiently secure and we should use this event to focus on coming up with better protocols for the labs and for gain of function research generally. But as I kept following her, she seemed wedded to saying that covid-19 itself was a lab Leak. As she drew some ideological support and funding, she only got more vehement. I think her larger point still remains, and some of her criticism was valid. But she seems unable to accept a conclusion she acknowledged was possible at the outset. She keeps harkening back to earlier Chines noncooperation even as the science gets better developed.
That CNN article is fake news. HW sent a warning about this when he worked for the FBI...or was it the CIA...or maybe it's when he teaching at UGA
There is zero chance this happened in a way that isn’t in direct control by someone(s) we can say did it for money and power. Because the idea that life happens to you is super scary. That first idea is the way to go. All you need then is super secret inside info and a top 2% intellect, both of which are found on YouTube, normally posted by someone using a combo of “patriot” and “69” in their username. After all, it’s just common sense that people who actually DO have uncommon intelligence and info would only have one career path: creating pathogens to destroy themselves in shoddy, undersecured labs in despot countries.
The article written by the "scientists" was published in a reputable journal and was peer reviewed prior to publication but you can always go ahead and prefer to articles, tweets and opinion pieces on fringe websites and the social media written by individuals with little or no scientific background. Personally I did believe that a lab leak was a possible explanation for the spread of Covid-19 into the human population, now I feel that it's extremely unlikely.
Either way, it still started in China. That I find interesting. If the entire world had to, in varying degrees, "shut down" for the past two and a half years, maybe China needs to shut down their animal markets. Anybody who is China friendly needs to get a grip. They would bury us in a second if they could.
Yeah, the journal Science is one of, if not the most prestigious journal in the discipline. They have an acceptance rate of only 6.4%. Having an article published in Science is a huge accomplishment.
