One ideology wants to be left alone and an other wants to exert power and control;) seems equal.

Same ideology posted over multiple forums does not make it reasonable.

I get it. Onward Christian Soldiers…..

I find the far left nonsensical to the point of farcical. I find religious zealotry to be rigid to the point of dangerousness and power seeking. We each have our take and life experience to support our “belief” systems.

I often find the quoters and others so immersed in dogma that any conversation often comes references and footnotes quite tiring. A loss of perspective viewed from a narrow righteous path.

I was probably just exposed to too many of the power social climbers in life to ever put faith in self appointed messengers of Christ. A negative view on life, probably. A mistake in engaging, absolutely.

Rather than all of the mudslinging, why not talk about his views on American politics? If you really want to see Doug Wilson's view for what he would propose for United States politics, then here it is. I bet you'd agree with some of it, but definitely not all of it.

    "Nat-Cs"... classic!

I'm not sure there is a more homophonous association that captures the threat of a group to outsiders.

You should read and watch the show “The Disputation in Barcelona” sometime. You can’t discuss with someone Jewish views of Christianity because it requires an explanation of Judiasm’s rejection of their diety— no matter which branch of Christianity. Never go there in these threads or anywhere else. At least there aren’t large scale religious pogroms against Jews now.

Which is why no Jew should join his movement or anything similar.

Hey, I'm all for any kind of government that is theocratic. My only gripe is that it should not be government by people claiming to represent God, but government by God himself. God should stop lazing around in Heaven, and fuming when people down here do wrong (like the orange god lazing around in Mar-a-Lago fuming about Liz Cheney or you name it), God should come down to Washington DC, Jerusalem, or any earthly site of his choice, to run the show directly. I'm also sick and tired of hearing about the Second Coming. I want Jesus to come again and get it over with. The longer he waits the more people will think it's all just pie in the sky.

"Worse, when facts are responded too with "you will never change my mind" we cease to be human and become pack animals."

Doesn't this describe politically-active Evangelical Christians perfectly? (Not most Christians.)

Likely so, but I'm not going to spend any more time researching Christian Nationalism / Dominionism or Doug Wilson. It's difficult enough now finding time to fit in all the things I want to do and there are books I want to read and pictures I want to paint. Life is spinning 78 rpm's while I'm moving in 33 mode.

National Christianity is the foundation of our country. Trying to escape persecution, violence, brutality and death from it, that is.

I believe the phrase you are wanting to say is, "We aren't 131st, we aren't 131st!" I am absolutely sure you are having a lot of fun. Quite a intellectual brain you have there!

If you don't know what I am talking about, see my original post (if you choose to): page 5, #95. Have a good day.

Except of course in all the ways that they are perfectly aligned, like abortion, drugs, marriage, self-identity, and so on. Pretty much all culture war stuff. You have to go to economics and even then out to actual Marx, the one that most people who use “Marxist” know almost nothing about, to get the real separation.

But hopefully this fever never breaks so we won’t be forced to watch even scarier freaks rub oil on MTG’s feet as she is announced as the first secretary of the Department of Personal Behavior. 24/7 monitoring and correcting all peoples’ behavior will be a monster bureaucracy, and all the foaming at the mouth from the storm troopers will just be gross.

So in the plaintiff’s twisted view, taking the preventative for a horrible disease is sinful? These people claiming religious rights that will result in disease and death are in need of some serious introspection and to actually read their Bible especially where it says “but the greatest of these is love”

I’d wager most people hope they do not prevail.

From the article: "His Christian clients — Kelley Orthodontics, Braidwood Management Inc. and several individuals — don’t wish to “subsidize or provide insurance that encourages and facilitates homosexual behavior, drug use, or sexual activity outside of marriage,” Mitchell said in a November 2021 court filing."

Maybe they think people will stop having gay sex and stop having sex outside of marriage if they have to risk getting HIV? Or perhaps they are okay with people getting HIV as a punishment for their sin. This is distinguishable from the abortion debate IMO since there's no embryo in the picture, but this mindset seems consistent with the way many think about contraception as well.

Lol, 95% disagree. Abortion leaves people alone in the same way the Nazis left people alone. Sure, according to the Reitzgricht’s definition of people the Nazis left people alone, but they denied personhood to human beings. The left believes in Libertarianism for everyone except the human beings they don’t recognize as persons. That is not libertarianism. To say you are libertarian and then hide your face while human beings are burned alive in chemicals, dismembered, and slaughtered by other means is hypocrisy. Better hope you are lucky enough to be recognized as a person by the supposed libertarian left. Otherwise, be prepared for destruction and annihilation.

Regarding identity…a true libertarian would say you are free to think what you want about yourself, but your thoughts about yourself have nothing to do with the law other than the free speech that protects your right to think and say your own thoughts. You can think you are a butterfly, born the wrong gender, attracted to the same sex, but legally that shouldn’t have to be codified in anyway. Why? Laws are made for one purpose: coercion. Coercion is only justifiable in rare circumstances. A thief who does not recognize property rights, a murderer who does not recognize another human being's right to life, a liar who unjustly destroys someone else's reputation...these are scenarios where coercion is justified against someone. Truly libertarian in the culture wars the left is not. And FWIW we can’t even say the left believes in democracy when it comes to the culture wars. If the left believed in democracy people wouldn’t have flipped out about Dobbs. The left believes in subjugation by non-democratic mechanisms. The practice of the left in the culture wars is subjugation to the courts. That is not libertarian, and it is not democracy. And then with things like BLM, anti-racism, etc they are not libertarian either. They don’t really believe in a fair fight in the marketplace of ideas. A fair fight in the public square would involve no government funding, and no use of schools and education as a way to further their agenda. Totalitarians use the education system to make sure their side wins. The left does not believe the culture wars should involve a fair fight in the public square.

Now I think you could say the left is libertarian on drugs. Hence, I agree with 5% of what you wrote. On most other things, however, I don’t think you have come to grips with the coercive nature of the left. The left is a non-religious mirror image of the coercion and subjugation they fear. They fear theocracy because it would overthrow their ability to impose their own ideologies on others.
