Boy, you really haven't been paying attention. There have been quite a few indictments and convictions and prison time handed down. Here 'ya go:
At least 882 people have been charged in the Capitol insurrection so far. This searchable table shows them all.

    • A pro-Trump mob descended on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and hundreds face criminal charges.
    • It took four hours to secure the building so Congress could certify President Joe Biden's victory.
    • Over a year later, at least 882 people have been charged. This searchable table shows them all.

So they aren’t indicting trump because they are afraid of the mob? Dude, thanks for the laugh. That is some lefty craziness right there. Not sure how else to say it. You honestly think they aren’t indicting trump because they are afraid of the mob?

I don’t want a backup argument. I’m one who wants trump indicted. Frankly he’s the only way Dems can possibly win come 24. I think trump is a terrible human being and is unfit to be president. DeSantis I firmly believe will be the next President

    No worries.

CNN for breaking news, outside of that I dont watch any of the propaganda machines.

Fox is destroying the party of Reagan and is arguably the most divisive outlet in the history of media

One reason I don't want to see him indicted is that his supporters are so dedicated that it would further the split in the country.

I honestly don’t think this matters at this point.

What are they going to do? Riot? The facts are there. It has to be done imo.

I think you give those whackos too much credit. If/when trump is indicted there will be a some protests but it will fade quickly.

I don't mean the protests. I mean the firm belief that the federal government is crooked, elections are crooked, the judicial system is crooked, Trump is a martyr, etc.

I literally know no one who believe that crap. I know there are some nut jobs on the right(left as well who think that, but I don’t think it will have a major affect on anything .

There have been many bad things that have happened over the last several years that didn’t involve Congressional hearings that paint Democrats in a negative light. There’s egging on of violence, which ultimately culminated in the attack of government buildings, there’s the undermining of our institutions, threats to basically dismantle the Supreme Court because Democrats didn’t get their way. There are all sorts of things that are bad that have not gotten Congressional hearings, I just used Benghazi as an example because they happened and I didn’t care to watch those either. But even as far as Benghazi, that WAS “real,” you just think there’s a double standard in how Clinton was treated for a failure like that in comparison to her predecessors. I’m sympathetic to that view, which is a big reason why Benghazi didn’t stop me from voting for her in 2016.

I keep hearing schtick about “obstruction” from Trump. That’s probably the best case for any criminal activity against him and even those are borderline. But here’s something else I do know, there is no administration in my lifetime that had more leaks (and therefore more transparency) than the Trump Administration. Pair that with the fact that Trump has a huge mouth and is easily manipulated, and it just makes it even less likely that Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the 2016 election, and that Trump planned to have these people invade the Capitol.

I already know where this conversation is going “but January 6th is not only the worst event in American history, but the most horrific in world history” or something to that extent. Even 1% of that is a gross over-exaggeration. It was probably some of the ugliest behavior we’ve seen from a President in the last 100 years, but the story of January 6th is the strength of our institutions, not the extent of the attack. I believe there were like 5 deaths, only one of which was really at the scene, and it was a Trump supporter. The end result, the election was certified and Trump’s own VP did the right thing. Not a single state (red or blue) caved to the Trump team’s demands.

I knew that and I haven’t watched a second of this live. I just know what I know from media reports, clips, and articles.

And I received THAT report from a right-wing outlet.

These same cases are made from the leftist side as well (and I’d argue those cases are FAR more prevalent).

“Trump’s DOJ was crooked. Barr was crooked.”

“Trump stole the 2016 election, Georgia is disenfranchising minority voters.”

“The Supreme Court is illegitimate because it passed decisions we don’t like so we need to add justices.”

    “Hillary Clinton is a martyr.”

“Any candidate with some sort of intersectional background who happens to be Democrat is a martyr.”

Disagree. Trump needs to be held accountable. And nothing is going to prevent further splitting the country so you might as well do the right thing.

You mean like the firm belief by many on this board that SCOTUS is crooked?

Agree. I'll go a step further and say that any hope for healing will only come with ripping off the Trump bandaid.
