"NewsGuard has downgraded Fox News dot com to a score (57/100) that puts it in the red, warning that the site "fails to adhere to several basic journalistic standards" and has "published numerous false and misleading claims.""

This may lead to a reduction in advertising since many ad exchanges leverage NewsGuard in an automated way to traffic ads.

This would bother them IF they cared about actually being journalists.

It sucks that telling people what they want to hear is better business than telling them what the facts are. And Fox is by no means alone on this.

This was on the Mar-a-Lago thread, but it also belongs here. Compare this to the Fox reaction to the FBI searching for documents that Trump possibly took.

Sure, they eventually want to make money. That doesn't mean they all go at it the same way. In addition to the Fox video I posted above, these compilations have been around awhile. If CNN did the same thing, where are those compilations?

Fox blasts Obama for saying he'd talk to North Korea, praises Trump for talking to North Korea.

Or Ebola (Obama let Ebola into the US!!!!) vs. Covid (no reason for concern.)

Im certainly not going to support Fox and I was thinking more along the lines of MSNBC, but CNN has entire programs where the anchor openly mocks every single conservative idea. ( Don Lemon).
    The bias is palpable.

They do it with more decorum than Fox, but they are just catering.

Even now their news cycle is so heavily Trump an alien wouldnt read it and know Biden existed.

And their abortion coverage is 100% one sided. There is zero objectivity in their reporting on Roe and Scotus. Zero.

Choose your side if you wish, but neither one is delivering real straight forward journalism.

My hope is that the new guy at CNN turns it into a real news organization again, like it was for many years before it became a liberal infomercial.

Big Tobacco purposely manipulated cigarettes to increase addictiveness. So we should have some empathy for smokers as they were targeted by a billion dollar industry. And ultimately this was publicized and they were held accountable.

It’s similar with so many in maga. Part of their cult like following is because they are targeted with this FoxNews manipulation. They fall victim to it in how they look at the world and it’s damaging to the foundations of our government. But unlike Big Tobacco our society can’t hold FoxNews accountable.

But only one, FoxNews, claims to be entertainment and not actual news.

Probably the best objective measure of commitment to journalism is how many bureaus that you run because it a measure of how concerned you are with original information compared to commentary exclusively. CNN has 36. Fox has 15.

I have found that for the most part, both CNN and Fox News have news stories during the day with a slight slant. It's in the evening that things go rogue. I can't watch Don Lemmon nor can I watch Hannity. CNN though always has had strong conservatives on there and let them speak, not so much on Fox
