Florida Police Sgt Caught on Body-Cam Choking Female Officer UPDATE: Sgt Arrested & Charged

Exact same thing happened to me. GHP has me follow him to courthouse in Hamilton Ga where a fat cigar chomping sheriff straight out of central casting tells me “that’ll be $300” (I was going fast). I tell him I only have $200 and he says “let me look again” then tells me he was wrong and recalculated and it was only $200 now.
Same sheriff later went to prison for the racket he had going.

 

Some may think I embellished that story, I assure you I did not, nor did we do anything to alienate those deputies, nothing, it was all yes sir, no sir, we all new better.

When that asshole kept stopping the squad car he was screaming at us to get out, then "make a run for it assholes, we will shoot you little C Suckers in the back.

I could not believe it, we were all stunned, and they just kept doing it, we began to think they would harm us.

They never said, awww we are kidding.

I will never forget it. I know this, if we had a recording of that, and sent it to the press, those officers may have been fired, even back then.

We subsequently learned that Volusia county was having trouble with fights, rowdy behavior and drugs on the beach, apparently it was out of control.

I was in Orlando at the time and me and my buds simply wanted to go to the beach and New Smyrna was closest, we had no clue as to the situation.

I've been leary of law every since.

 

Same thing happened to a friend driving to a hunting camp south of Columbus, in rural Georgia one night, Fla tags. Stopped him, shook him down, released him after basicly robbing him of $400.00 in cash.

 

Right there with you. 50 this year. Still train as hard as ever. But I’ll admit I’m a touch slower on reactions. I’d prob be fine until I ran into someone that was 30 and knew what they were doing.

 

I know that leary feeling. Let me preface this by saying I'm not a lawyer..

I was about 17 and a couple friends were riding around in my buddy's truck. We stopped at a public park for a few minutes.

We were there for less than 5 mins when a car pulled up and 3 officers got out. I can't remember if this was a marked car or an unmarked car. They weren't your average officer, they looked like drug task force. They were in plain clothes with vest on.

The leader of the group, a real, 100% a-hole, proceeded to demand all of us exit the vehicle. While I'm pretty sure that courts have held that the police can order passengers out of the car, I don't believe these were lawful orders as we hadn't done anything wrong. All we did was pull over at a park for a few minutes. If they had reasonable, articuable suspicion of crime, they dang sure didn't tell us any of that.

The dude is cussing at us for no reason. He's trying his best to be tough an assert his authority. He tells me to make an "OK" symbol with my hand, like this . He grabs be wrist, squeezing way too hard, and orders me not to make any sudden moves while he pulls my hand to his nose. He sniffs my fingers for a bit, yes, really, and then does the same with the rest of the occupants. I guess since our fingers didn't smell like weed, he told us all to get in the truck and ordered us to leave.

Imo, none of this was legal. We were pulled onto the side of the road inside the park just like other cars were. It was mid-day and I don't remember any No Parking signs. This whole encounter should have been consensual. He had no right to pull us out of the vehicle, make us make OK signs and let him smell our fingers. We were not loitering since we had only been there a few minutes and were not blocking anyone's travels. I would also think that since we were free to go, we were also free to stay, so he had no authority to demand that we leave the area. Since we were ordered to leave after the finger sniff, that leads me to further believe that they had no RAS for a stop anyways.

At 17, you do what the officer says, whether it's lawful or not. These days, I would have started recording and stood up for my rights. The dude, to this day, is one of the biggest aholes I've ever met in my life. He's infamous. I've brought the interaction up to some folks I know in Law enforcement, and they all immediately recognized him by the description I gave. They all day that he's definitely an ahole and that no body in law enforcement likes him and that he bounces around from dept to dept. One of them told me that he had to be rescued by the fire dept one day because thought he was going to climb way up into a tree during a stake our and got stuck, lol.

I have not trusted them since. Especially since videos of interactions because widely available on the interwebz. So many people don't know the rights that they have.

 

I don't disagree with that either, he shouldn't be putting his hands any officer male or female. But to claim he was choking her is ridiculous

Hope she does not end up regretting her courage, a distinct possibility. That culture has a way of punishing such valor

 

And I have another story about - POLICE -
It ain't just bad players in the South.

I was working a Hospital Power House project in Grand Rapids, Michigan and myself and a coworker were returning to the office in Chicago, about 10 minutes out of Grand Rapids a Michigan Hwy Patrol hits the blues, my coworker was driving. Doing 70 in a 65. He was like, man I can't belive this guy is stopping us for doing 5 over the speed limit.

Cop asks for license and registration, it is provided, all was in order. Cop does not go back to the patrol car and run anything, instead he says, $20.00 bucks, this goes away. Of course my coworker slips him the $20.00, and we drive on.

 

And another story about POLICE, my dad owned a 2,000 acre spread near Paxton, Fla.
Florala, Alabama was just N across the state line.
Near Paxton, and next to my dad's spread was a poir black community called Flowers View.
My half brother, whom totally embraced the deep south, red-neck, racist ethos of White Superiority was a so called "under-cover" detective. He was never professionally trained, the Florala police just gave him that title.
Anyway. In those days, in black communities like Flowers View, it was typical to have a local "joint" that black folk would enjoy drinking, dancing, BBQ and socializing, and yes one could get weed at those places.
Well my half brother and the "deputies" would raid that place, bust heads for fun and of course steal money, weapons and weed.
He and those cops used to talk, joke and laugh about it all the time.
I happened to play basketball for Laurel Hill down the road and new most of the black kids that played for Paxton, many of which lived in Flowers View.

Made me sick man, I happened to not be a sick f__k like my half brother and was friends with alot of those folks from Flowers View, many of which worked on my dad's place.

It troubles me to this day. I am estranged from my half brother and have not spoken to him since 1998.

 

And I got more stories which I will keep to myself. Trust police???? LMFAO.......

peculiar in your defense of this cop you for some reason make a point that a woman not wanting to be touched is just a line and also they claim to be frail and weak.

 

You need to learn to trace a discussion back to the beginning. Coop brought up the officer putting his hands on a WOMANS ass. I simply pointed out when a woman puts on a gun, badge and night stick she is the same as any other officer. If she wants to do that job that is fine but to treat her any different than any other officer just because she is a woman is wrong.

You didn’t simply point out, you referred to women as frail and weak. And you reference cops and “grabbing them on the ass.” I doubt male cops like it either. And starting a post with “Sorry guys once again I am not defending him but”. And proceed to do that, is still defending him and I’m not sure why. He absolutely lost his cool, threatened to kill the suspect, grabbed another officer by the throat, and is now facing felony charges. And she is the hero. Especially considering what our country has been thru regarding police brutality the last few years.

 

You guys fighting at bars or anywhere else need to be careful. Everyone is armed these days.


I quit fighting years ago. Now I’m one of those armed people but I also don’t start fights or go looking for trouble.

 

You’re right about people being armed. I never liked fights but got in some. Been over 20 years though since one and hope I never have to do it again.

 

Not to re hash but some of these LEOs need to take it upon themselves to get more skilled in close contact.
