Trump not only puts himself above the country but also even above his own party. I don't know the details or accuracy of this particular story, but things like this are why he lost when he probably could have cruised to victory. I think a lot of Republicans are realizing this and that's why DeSantis is getting a push.
I keep saying the same thing and getting push back. Trump is a cancer on this country who is hell bent on destroying our democracy to serve his own ends. DeSantis is just another pandering politician. We can get past the latter in the next election, but not the former. Once those critical institutions are gone or devalued they aren’t coming back.
What's the evidence that DeSantis wouldn't attempt this too? He's already played these games with UF lol.
not just UF but public education in Florida. DeSantis is a smoother Trump but just as narcissistic and just as willing to use gubmnt to punish opposition. Trivia for 20, when was the last time DeSantis changed his mind or admitted he needed further information or just admitted he was wrong or mistaken..I'll be surprised if anybody can find anything

In terms of appointing political yes men or partisans, Obama didn't do enough of it, arguably. James Comey basically screwed his legacy and tilted the Supreme Court to its current state. Mike Flynn was in the Obama administration. Its mind boggling stuff if you think about it. Will probably never happen again. But firing the whole civil service would be some next level stuff! Would totally kill the golden goose, and bring us back to 19th century politics and the spoils system.
Mike Flynn was appointed the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency under Obama and served for a short time before he was canned for incompetence. It's been suggested he turned on the Democrats as a form of revenge. After Flynn left he was on the payroll of the Turks and probably the Russians. I do tend to agree that Comey's revelation that Clinton's State Department emails were on the computer shared by Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin may have been the final nail in Hillary Clinton's electoral coffin although there was also speculation that the NYC office of the FBI which was led by senior agents who had close ties with Rudy Giuliani would have leaked that information regardless of what Comey did. Speaking of Flynn this photo always comes to mind. Also note that Jill Stein is also in the picture.
I used to thing most of them were grifters working over the rubes for cash but the more that comes out from behind the scenes, the more you realize that a lot of them believe the Pizzagate level stuff is real.
