There are certain people in here that I never engage with on certain topics. I know what they are going to say and what my response will be and their counter response. So I let that run quickly through my head and the need to respond quickly passes.
Is it though? Isn't part of the point of that passage how unusual such a thing is and that it is, in essence, a miracle that such a thing happened and not something that should be applied in a general sense? I am pretty sure the church leadership that believed in life being breathed into people occurring at different stages of development over time were aware of that passage. I mean, the bible describes virgin birth as well, but if we were writing laws to deal with virgin birth, even Christians would find it odd, given that the point is that sort of thing doesn't generally happen.

I have never been impressed with Tebows intelligence. He has football smarts but on anything else he isn’t the brightest bulb in the bunch. His faith I assume is real but I don’t look to football players for important decisions.

Nope faith and knowledge have nothing to do with each other. What I may have poorly said was that if Tebow said something about football I would listen because he has knowledge there that I don’t have. Virtually anything else I am probably politely listening but not taking it to seriously.

They are men who walk to the best of their ability with Christ. They are two of the best at hermeneutically interpreting the Bible to the best of our abilities (I am far more knowledgeable with Voddie and only followed Wilson in passing). Voddie is definitely one of the Great leaders for the Church of our time. I have never heard either man say this country should be a Christian Nation. But they each care dearly that the lost find Jesus. If one of them has called for this country or any country to be a Christian Nation…I would disagree with them. I don’t think you will find that. I have not read Wilson in years though suspect he is still solid. Voddie is one of the best. His Table of Nations sermon from 2008 that I have posted in the past is phenomenal. DeSantis lines up pretty close to me on abortion. And she implied that I was Trump like in my personal beliefs. Dont give her an out by pointing out that one issue supercedes the others. She made up a lie. A misrepresentation of me. You know its true. You know where I stand on those things. And lets be honest, most of those issues have been new battles for Dems too. Obama was against gay marriage until he wasnt. Dems pandered about health care for years before BHO delivered a better than nothing, but pretty weak system. I care deeply about the topic of unborn humans. I believe they are unique humans in the image of their Creator. That will resonate with me more than the glorified taxation that the state calls marriage, or if you want to wear a mask.
I know where you say you stand on those things, but it doesn't seem to translate to the politicians you support. You're a big fan of DeSantis, but DeSantis won't expand Medicaid in Florida. 38 other states have done it. So that can't be that important of an issue to you. Gun Control? DeSantis just made a big deal about denying money for the Rays training complex because the Rays spoke out about gun violence after Uvalde. Vaccinations? DeSantis mandates that businesses can't require them. Death penalty? DeSantis signs death warrants. Gay marriage? DeSantis vindictively used his office to punish Disney for speaking out against his 'don't say gay' bill. As for abortion, DeSantis isn't going to ban it in Florida. And you say that's your biggest issue. So why exactly do you like DeSantis so much?

As I said, it appears there is ample attempts to put the toothpaste back in the tube. What I see, and we all see what we want to see, is that he was using a rhetorical example to soft sell the legislation. Perhaps a few persons can rationalize the mother's emotions and so the need for the legislation. But as you are well aware, there are always unintended consequences from far-reaching laws. Like when we decide to import certain plants or animals to combat a problem and then we begin a new, and sometimes bigger, problem with the new species. It is my firm belief, since I recall the news and the aftermath, that Northham spoke and pulled a "Trump" or a "Biden" (whichever is your preference) and afterwards there was political spin galore. There wasn't any part of the news I watched, and as I posted it is a liberal-leaning station and is well financed, that tried to "right a wrong" in how it was interpreted through any official channels. It is based on some real facts and a bunch of intuitive interpretation of why these events are happening and the timing of them. The powers that be are NOT stupid. And to use a more "Christian" notion to things, there are "happenstances" that appear to be, when you look at the big picture and over a period of time, intelligently designed rather than via a progression from the Big Bang to the primal slime to the effect of the beating of a butterfly's wings. It is TOO connected to be merely a cosmic roll-of-the-dice game.
I am not sure what faith is supposed to do for me or anybody. The only thing I take seriously from Tebow is his explanations of football.
