Here's a first attempt trying to piece together a batting order for next year even though the draft isn't even over. This is what I'd like to see Sully try but still doubt very seriously on a few of these positions.

LF - (Bats Left) Michael Robertson (One of the fastest on the team and a good base stealer if he can prove himself at the plate)
CF - (Bats Right) Wyatt Langford (I don't know how Sully takes him out of lead off but imagine the RBIs if more guys were on base)
1B - (Bats Left) Jac Caglianone (We might need a new scoreboard if he gets a full year at the plate)
C/DH - (Bats Left) BT Riopelle (Proven production in the 4th spot)
DH/C - (Bats Right) Luke Heyman (Its going to be difficult to keep his bat out of the lineup this year as a freshman)
RF - (Bats Right) Ty Evans (Should be our starter in RF, could be a big year for Ty, but look for several others to give him plenty of competition)
2B - Dale Thomas/Tyler Shelnut (DT is a better fielder at a higher level but Shelnut has the hot bat, look for Sully to favor the defense at 2nd)
3B - (Bats Left) Colby Halter (Proven 3rd baseman that's a better fielder when diving for hard hit ground balls)
SS - (Bats Right) Josh Rivera (Proven SS and should be a team leader in his last year)

    Notes:
I'd be shocked if Michael Robertson is our leadoff hitter for Game 1 so expect Langford to get the nod early in the season. Robertson is on my wish list because of his speed at leadoff. The freshman Yoel Tejeda might win the LF position instead of MR. I haven't seen him play OF so waiting for the fall TBD. If Heyman is not our DH I'd be looking at Shelnut or Lastres and see who is hot. Last year our batting order was top heavy which limited the offense in games where the bottom half sometimes struggled. Hopefully this year the 6-9 spots can hit for a better average overall. If there's one player on my Probably Gone list that I hope comes back its Kenny Calilao for a lockdown defender at 1st when needed. Sure he has no chance of starting with Cags in there but KC has a way of settling things down in case of injury. I'll probably put out a better guess as we start fall ball and then keep tweaking it as reports come in.

At this point anything is possible but Deric likes the infield with everything that I've heard.

I am sure he does but there are only 3 positions. He isn’t displacing Rivera unless he makes a mammoth leap. Halter is possible I suppose but he played a pretty solid 3rd. And Thomas at 2B looks like a very good bet. Limited options if you want to play…

Exactly—SThompson played out of his normal position year before last and everything’s worked out pretty well for him—team players go farther IMHO.

Its strange watching all the Tennessee and Vanderbilt players getting drafted throughout the draft but only the select few Gators go early on. Otherwise guys like Calilao, Armstrong, and Milchin are going to find few options or the end of the road for their careers. It just goes to show you how few draft eligible players we had last year and the high number of freshmen that filled our roster. The good news is most of them are coming back.

Ellerts remains the only question mark I would think other than another new transfer. I don’t think any of the incoming FR aside from Isaac will leave despite a couple late picks.

He just got back from Japan literally like the day before or day he posted. So he didn’t announce while he was over there playing for team USA

Options I would assume. Like Thomas and Ellerts here.

Have to assume a backup plan in case he hadn't gotten a contract offer. But why not stay at UF otherwise....he would have been competing for the same type innings at either place.

I can't tell if we are talking about Cape Cod baseball or bad law firms success rates.

and as far as summer ball goes and lead off spot next season, Colby H. is killing it at the Cape, so he may be rolled back in top spot if he keeps that hot bat
