He dropped while we still thought he was coming to us.

He dropped weeks before he committed. He was a 5 star for only a few weeks. Surprised he didn’t drop more after the Elite 11.

FWIW, the Gators now have a 4 star QB in the ‘23 class. Two if you count Whittemore.

It just doesn’t seem like rashada is a $10 million bet. The market is the market but it will likely correct. No incentives, no obligations for performance parameters? I don’t see how the average college QB could be with $2 million a season.

    Are HSs next?

Is Aaron Rodgers worth 50? I guess so. How much is a Packers ticket? How much for a ticket to see Anthony Richardson play Utah? How much should Richardson get paid in comparison to Rodgers? 5%?

I don’t think he actually got $9m. Sounded like he was just running his mouth, probably in response to the negative publicity and getting his offer pulled by UF. He was the highest ranked QB still available but he wasn’t worth Manning money.

If he has a great season, I wouldn’t mind Richardson getting that kind of money to stay another year. There’s the true upside to NIL.

Back to rankings, I think UF will be just outside of the top 10 by the first week in August. Given the realities of recruiting in the NIL era, focusing on the players just outside of the top 100 makes a lot is sense. 18 4 star players will be a great haul. Two or three will play like they had 5 stars.

If he wins the heisman, what is he truly worth next year? How much money does he bring the school by staying. The true number is probably higher than most would think.

Both Rogers and AR are proven QBs.

That doesn’t seem to reconcile with the report that UF offered $11.5. I know, who knows, right?

What can you tell me about his offer being pulled, was it to save face or?

I am still interested in what scUM will do with or offer their 3 star QB commit from NWF. If they have to pay him off anywhere near the Rashada price point to keep him then Rashada just became that much more overpriced.

18 four star would be a great success especially if they arrive, enroll, develop and stay on roster. I believe this staff will do better than the previous by those parameters.

I would like to know from who you believe we gain commitments. If you don’t want to go on record- and jinx us- PM me. I don’t even j kw who is left on our position boards.

That wasn’t a report. It was unsubstantiated BS. UF walked away a week or two before he committed to UM. Our staff refused to work with Rashada’s agent.

Yet the qbs drafted are only proven in college and half of them fail. Same as being a proven hs qb going in top 100 to college maybe?

Me, I would be more interested in reading Rashadas Terms and Conditions to his NIL money.

Perhaps his agent poo pooing our NIL was just to save face.

Obviously, that’s true. So perhaps we are going to have to endure this “endless money” Wild West period before NILs become rational and based some kind of performance.

Can we only speculate what’s in these NIL deals? Like, what if Rashada is not named the starter and what then if the coach names a guy with a far less lucrative NIL the starter and avoids having to pay the contract in full. I realize I’m the NFL being a $2 million a season backup QB is a pretty good deal, but Universities? And what happens when the 3 star guy usurps the star NIL draftee and retains an agent? And the OL protecting the NIL star QB, are they getting their millions?

It’ll work itself out. Players that don’t pan out will be kicked through the portal. It would be interesting to see what protection that teams and players have in those situations. The 3* that become first day draft picks will get nils or hit the portal. It’ll be no different than how any other sport manages their rosters. Buyouts, players released, changing to teams that can afford to pay them.
