Shoot I'd even take who can hit a ground ball to the opposite side against the shift.

Colby Thomas getting drafted early in the 3rd round was about the only disappointment on the day for UF. Still another day tomorrow but there is a pretty good chance that other than he and Xavier Isaac, all the other signees and transfers may very well show up on campus.

Looks like good shot that Halter, BT are back, and looking better and better like we may get Ellerts on campus.

I could also do without watching players walking up to the batter’s box wearing the dang Mr. T starter sets…..

It really has run its course. Switching to the clock was a surprisingly successful innovation the first time they did it, but even that has gotten old now. Plus as you say there's just too much nonsense surrounding the event.

Some of their getups would make Mr. T blush.

Yep, it’s gotten beyond ridiculous. It is no longer about the game of baseball, it’s solely about ME…….the individual player.

I still prefer “there is no me in TEAM”!

yes surprising, best I can figure is his ACL tear worried alot of programs and he is limited to 1st base. These issues and that he is a Senior, had he been a Jr he may went in top 5

That is correct-when you roll the dice and go back for your SR year you definitely lose leverage as then the business side of MLB assumes the position of “take it or leave it” IMHO.

Was this his covid year, or could he actually come back?

*answered myself, 22 was his free bonus year, so he’s out of eligibility

Age. Ageism is a factor in MLB draft and career projections. Elko is 24 or close to it. It may be working against BT as well as he is 23. When I was talking to a scout about Jud's chances - he said "well he's a year older and that doesn't help."

Yea, but seemed pretty clutch the few times I watched ole miss. Hitting HRs last year on one leg was pretty kirk Gibonesque also.

Coming back may have cost him a couple of bucks, but he has a life time memory not many have and I believe ole miss is putting up a statue in his honor.
Still annoys me a bit that he is from Tampa. Guess we can't get em all.

Agree - the hype and fanfare is way over the top and ditto the camera on Alonso as he was meditating in the clubhouse before his turn- simply ridiculous. I thought Pete took it all a bit too serious to tell the truth. The other guys were on the field yukking it up- having a good time - and Pete looked like he was in waiting room for urologist appt. Gotta treat a made for TV spectacle as fun event.

It's a culture thing. Also why the game is getting harder to follow.

IMO he is gone, unless maybe we did some NIL deal to lure him
