I was actually around in 1975 and even remember the SNL skits in which Chevy Chase portrayed Ford. The jabs at President Ford were intended to be humorous, the ridicule of Biden over his bike accident are a part of the mean spirited doddering old fool narrative from the right. Context matters. Absolutely no one tried to suggest that Ford's stumbles reflected on his competence for office or his intellectual ability; not so with Biden.
Is this President Trump staging a photo op gone awry? Old folks have issues. Give Biden credit for doing what most folks his age wouldn't do.
I don't see his (Biden's) stumbles as a reflection of his competence. There are myriad other reasons for that. Same for previous presidents and previous administrations. I almost immediately saw his election as more of a "caretaker role", a bridge between the ridiculousness of Trump's administration (had high hopes for him as a fresh set of eyes going in though I didn't vote for him) and what I am/was hoping would be a more moderate approach to the top office of the Executive (I'm much less optimistic given the screaming from the Trump crowd and the screaming from the ABT crowd).
Maybe not you but some of the other posts in this thread suggested that Biden's "accident" reflected on his competence and while not as much in this thread I have read quite a few posts on social media ridiculing Biden and trying to tie the accident to his intellectual competence.
Most of the time, that stuff doesn't even register on my radar. It's taken quite a while, but I've gotten fairly good at knowing what posters here are genuinely interested in conversation and which ones are more interested in simply throwing gasoline on the partisan fire.

Maybe you're right, posters should stick to the serious topic of this thread, Joe Biden's minor bicycle accident. Personally, I fail to see the obsession but then I'm not afflicted with Joe Biden Derangement Syndrome so I have a difficult time relating.

I was responding to a post saying Trump "has the intellectual ability of a third grader". Steve Bannon, who knows Trump very well, disagrees. He thinks Trump is more like a 5th grader.
